Machines for new road formation at altitude
New formation cutting in rock is heavy excavator and rock breaker work, with a dozer pushing spoil and opening the track. Drilling equipment and controlled blasting are likely on harder sections. Behind the cut come retaining and breast walls, which need concrete mixers and a hydra, then a motor grader and vibratory roller for the base and surfacing. Machines need to be moved in before the snow closes access, and spare parts carried in with them, because breakdown support that far up is days away.
