Equipment on an upgradation job
Widening an existing two-lane to four lanes is a different rhythm from greenfield. Much of the work is building the new carriageway beside the old one, so excavators, tippers, dozers and soil compactors run in narrow corridors with traffic alongside. Motor graders trim the widened formation. Milling machines and cold planers come in where the existing pavement is recycled, and wet mix plants feed the base layers. Sensor pavers with tandem and pneumatic rollers lay the bituminous courses. Culverts, minor bridges and the structures at the state border need a batching plant, transit mixers, concrete pumps and a hydraulic crane. Traffic management kit is a real line item here, not an afterthought.
