The Engineer in Chief, Civil, has put two road widening packages funded by the central road and infrastructure fund out on one notice worth ₹62.02 crore together, and both Odisha CRIF road tenders close at 05:30 PM on 9 November 2026.
Two districts, two packages, one notice
Notice CE-Roads-II-03/2026-27 carries both jobs. The larger one widens and strengthens the Adava to Paniganda road from 0/00 km to 19/951 km in Gajapati district, under Paralakhemundi division, at ₹36,12,52,877 with 540 days. The second widens and strengthens the Umerkote to Chandahandi to Malgam road from 52/00 km to 63/796 km in Nabarangapur district, under Nabarangapur division, at ₹25,89,42,282 with 420 days.
The two roads are in different districts of southern Odisha and about 300 km apart by road, so this is not one job in two parts. Bid them separately on merit, or take both if you can run two camps.
What the CRIF route means for you
Both packages are percentage rate contracts with a ₹10,000 fee each. EMD is ₹36,13,000 for the Gajapati package and ₹25,89,000 for the Nabarangapur one, 1 per cent in each case. Bids for both open at 11:30 AM on 10 November.
Funding through the central road and infrastructure fund usually means a defined scope and reasonably prompt payment, which matters for a contractor carrying plant on hire. Gajapati sits next to Ganjam, where the Achuli Somma Kodala widening job is live, and the Nabarangpur package is on the same district as NHAI work at Koksara to Nabarangpur on NH-26. The Bisipada Katringia widening in Kandhamal is a close match in size and style.
Hill-edge widening on a modest budget
Southern Odisha roads run through undulating, partly forested country, so widening means side cutting, retaining walls and a lot of cross drainage rather than long embankments. Excavators do the cutting, tippers and wheel loaders handle the muck and the aggregate, and a motor grader with compactors builds the pavement. Retaining walls and culverts need mixers. At ₹1.8 crore and ₹2.2 crore a kilometre these are small-contractor jobs, which is exactly where hired machines beat owned ones unless you have continuous work lined up.
