Ten district roads totalling about 132.88 km go out for widening and strengthening on a single NIT from the Engineer in Chief (Civil), Odisha, and every one of these Odisha road widening tenders closes at 5:30 PM on 16 November 2026.
Eight districts, one notice, ten separate bids
All ten packages sit under reference CE-Roads-II-04/2026-27 and the State Plan, but each is bid and awarded on its own. The biggest is Chudangapur to Sambalpur road via Sundaradanga and Buripadar in Gajapati, 17.694 km at ₹42.60 crore, handled by Paralakhemundi Division. Baliguda Division has the Dasingbadi PWD road to Tajungia via Sonepur in Kandhamal, 11.900 km at ₹39.15 crore. Nabarangapur Division carries Malgam to the Kalahandi border road, 12.719 km at ₹35.64 crore.
The rest are Kairasi to Salabana via Khojapalli Gundripalli in Ganjam at ₹32.36 crore, NH-26 to Bhadra Badipada in Balangir at ₹29.98 crore, the Badapada to Kutrabeda road in Balangir at ₹28.45 crore, Narayanpatna to Bijaghati in Koraput at ₹27.71 crore, Arjunpur to Burda in Subarnapur at ₹27.45 crore, Bissamcuttack to Dukum in Rayagada at ₹26.21 crore and Bhutiarbahal to Phabsi Chowk in Balangir at ₹25.25 crore. Balangir Division and Kantabanji Division between them hold three of the ten.
Who these are sized for
The deposit scales with the package, from ₹25,25,000 on the smallest to ₹42,60,000 on the largest, and the tender fee is a flat ₹10,000 each. EMD exemption is allowed, which opens the door to registered small contractors. Completion periods run from 390 days on the Rayagada road to 540 days on the Gajapati one.
A contractor already working in southern or western Odisha can bid two or three neighbouring packages and share a crusher, a hot mix plant and a labour camp across them. That is where the margin is on work of this size. The state also has the Koksara Nabarangpur NH-26 widening tender and an earlier pair of CRIF road tenders in Gajapati and Nabarangpur open on the same portal.
Fleet for a 10 to 18 km district road
Widening an existing village road is mostly shoulder work and layer building, not bulk cutting. One or two excavators handle the side drains and the widening trench, a backhoe loader takes the culverts and the utility shifting, and a motor grader with two compactors builds granular and bituminous layers. A wheel loader at the quarry or crusher keeps the tipper cycle honest. Our guide to road construction equipment sets out what each machine does on a job this size, and the NH-20 pavement strengthening tender at Panikoili shows what the same fleet earns on a national highway.
