What the work covers

NHIDCL wants the existing carriageway widened and upgraded to two lanes with paved shoulders, from Km 0.000 at Rhenock to Km 15.300 at Rongli Bazaar. It’s a single EPC package worth Rs 311.85 crore, so design and build both sit with the contractor. Sikkim terrain means cut-and-fill on slopes, hill-road drainage, retaining structures and a fair bit of protection work alongside the black-topping.
