VUDA Green Ring Road Package-1 Tender, Vadodara (₹257.91 Cr)

Vadodara’s urban development authority has put Package-1 of the four-lane VUDA Green Ring Road out to tender at ₹257.91 crore, and bids close on 27 August 2026.

What Package-1 covers

The VUDA Green Ring Road tender is issued by the Vadodara Urban Development Authority under reference 06 of 2026-2027, with the Executive Engineer, VUDA, Vadodara as the inviting authority. It is Package-1 of Phase-II of the four-lane PSS Green Ring Road in Gujarat, valued at ₹257.91 crore and tendered as a works contract.

Package-1 is not the whole ring. A second package under the same notice carries an estimate of ₹223.80 crore and closes on the same date, so the two together account for roughly ₹482 crore of carriageway work being awarded in one window. Bidders who can staff both should read the documents once and price twice.

EMD is ₹2,57,91,000, exactly one per cent of the estimate, and the notice records that EMD exemption is allowed. The tender fee is ₹18,000, bid validity runs 120 days, and withdrawal is not permitted once the bid is in. Submissions opened on 13 August 2026 and close on 27 August 2026.

Who should be pricing this

Green Ring Road work is a road contractor’s job rather than a specialist one. The technical documents in the set cover pre-qualification, detailed specifications for roads, special conditions and a testing schedule, which points to a conventional four-lane build with the usual pavement, drainage and structures content. A regional Gujarat firm with four-lane experience and its own paving train is the natural bidder here.

The short window is the thing to plan around. Two weeks between the notice opening and the close does not leave much time for a site visit, a materials survey and a considered rate, so a contractor already working around Vadodara starts with a real advantage on haul distances and quarry tie-ups.

Fleet you need on a greenfield ring road

Ring road alignments run through open ground, which means earthwork sets the pace. Excavators and dozers handle cut and fill, tippers move the material, and motor graders trim the formation before compaction. Soil compactors and pneumatic tyred rollers follow through the sub-base and base layers.

Pavement work then needs a wet mix plant, pavers and tandem rollers, with a batching plant and transit mixers for culverts, drains and any structures on the alignment. Cranes come in for precast and for the larger cross-drainage units. On a job this size the plant is usually deployed in two or three fronts at once, so equipment availability rather than total quantity is what decides the programme.
