The fleet this demands
Overlay at this length is a production job, and your machine availability decides your margin. A cold milling machine takes off the damaged surface, and on six lanes you will want more than one. Pavers lay the bituminous courses, backed by tandem rollers and pneumatic tyre rollers for the compaction train. A hot mix plant of proper capacity is the centre of the operation, since you cannot run a corridor this long off a small plant, and tippers move mix from it to the laying front around the clock. Excavators and a backhoe loader handle the full-depth patches, edge repairs and drainage. Working live traffic on NH-48 also means a serious investment in cones, crash barriers and signage that many bidders underprice.
