₹84.52 crore, one year, and a town that cannot be closed to traffic: the Phaltan NH-965 tender from NHAI covers city widening plus a new road over bridge, and bids close at 3:00 PM on 26 October 2026.
Two pieces of work on one highway
The first part widens the existing two-lane road through Phaltan city within the available width, from chainage 138+250 at the start of the bypass to 144+425, about 6.175 km. The notice lists the purpose as safety, drainage and segregation of traffic. The second part is a new ROB at km 179+730 (existing km 61+100) of NH-965.
NHAI’s Mumbai regional office is the inviting authority and the portal files the work under Pune. The notice first went up on 2 April 2026, with a pre-bid meeting on 17 April, and is still open.
What bidders should check first
EMD is ₹84,52,300, 1 per cent of the ₹84,52,29,934 estimate, with no exemption. The fee is ₹10,000 and the completion period is 365 days. A year is short for a rail crossing, because ROB work waits on railway approvals and traffic blocks, so read the programme conditions before you price.
Widening within the existing width is slow, careful work. Backhoe loaders do most of the drain and utility trenching because they fit where an excavator cannot swing. Paving takes a motor grader, tandem and pneumatic rollers and a paver, often at night. The ROB brings in piling, a crane for girders over the track and transit mixers for the deck.
