NHAI has put the NH-44 stretch from Ashram to the Badarpur border in south-east Delhi out to bid at ₹378.87 crore, and the Ashram Badarpur road tender closes at 11:00 AM on 25 November 2026.
About 8 km of the busiest road into Delhi
The work is a one-time improvement and upgrade of the carriageway from km 8.300 near Ashram to km 16.277 near the Badarpur border, a little under 8 km of the Mathura Road corridor that carries traffic between Delhi and Faridabad. NHAI’s Regional Office in Delhi is running it on EPC mode, reference NHAI/Delhi/ Ashram-Badarpur /NH44/ 2026.
The notice went up on 5 October 2026 and gives 730 days to finish. That is two working seasons on a road that never closes, so the traffic plan will shape your price as much as the quantities do.
Money and eligibility
EMD is ₹3,79,00,000, almost exactly 1 per cent of the estimate, and exemption is not allowed. The tender fee is ₹40,000. The portal lists the form of contract as item rate while the title says EPC, so read the RFP to see how payment is actually measured. Bids open at NHAI headquarters at 11:30 AM on 26 November.
Upgrading a city highway means milling, overlay and drainage in short stretches, often at night. Wheel loaders and backhoe loaders clear and load, motor graders shape the base, and tandem and pneumatic rollers follow the paver. Drains and kerbs need transit mixers and a small excavator. Owners with machines already working in Faridabad, Noida or south Delhi can expect hire enquiries once the contract is let. For the wider fleet, see the road construction equipment guide.
