Majholi Branch Canal Tender: Two NVDA Canal Repair Jobs in Jabalpur and Katni (Rs 66 Cr)

The Narmada Valley Development Authority has two canal repair contracts worth ₹66 crore between them out in Jabalpur and Katni districts, and both the Majholi branch canal tender and its Right Bank Main Canal sibling close at 5:30 PM on 4 November 2026.

Two stretches of canal, one office

Both notices come from the Chief Engineer, Upper Narmada Zone, whose office sits at Bargi Hills in Jabalpur. The first, reference 319/G/CE/2026, covers repair, maintenance and system correction of the Majholi Branch Canal from RD 0.00 km to 27.27 km, distribution system included, for ₹35,04,65,555. The second, reference 318/G/CE/2026, does the same for two reaches of the Right Bank Main Canal, RD 83.00 to 102.00 km and RD 129.00 to 154.00 km, for ₹30,95,94,293.

Each is a turnkey job with 545 days to finish. They were published together on 9 October, share one pre-bid meeting at Bargi Hills on 19 October at 3:00 PM, and open on the same morning, so a contractor can price them side by side and bid for one or both.

Deposits and what the figures say

EMD is a fixed ₹17,53,000 on the Majholi job and ₹15,48,000 on the main canal job, which is 0.5 per cent of each estimate, and no exemption is allowed. The tender fee is ₹50,000 for each. Both bids open at 10:30 AM on 6 November 2026.

Other Madhya Pradesh water work is out at the same time, such as the Jabalpur sewerage tender for Zone 1 and the Itarsi sewage treatment plant tender. Out west, Rajasthan has canal relining open under the Sadul Branch relining tender.

System correction on an old canal means reshaping the section, rebuilding banks and fixing lining and outlets along a long, narrow site. Long-reach excavators handle desilting and bank work, backhoe loaders move along the service road for minor structures, and compactors firm up rebuilt banks. Lining panels and outlet repairs need concrete mixers. Work like this usually runs in the closure window when water is off, so owners near Jabalpur, Sihora and Katni who can commit machines for those months are well placed.
