Amritsar’s north zone is getting a 60 MLD sewage treatment plant and the pumping station to feed it, and the ₹181.27 crore Amritsar STP tender closes at 1:00 PM on 28 October 2026.
Plant, pumping station and the pipes between them
The Punjab Water Supply and Sewerage Board, Division Amritsar-I, under the Department of Local Government, is the inviting authority, reference 60 MLD STP NORTH ZONE. The work is construction of a main pumping station of 120 MLD peak flow capacity, construction of a 60 MLD sewage treatment plant, and providing, laying, jointing, testing and commissioning of pipelines and other works at the north zone, Gausabad, Amritsar town, under AMRUT 2.0. The period is 630 days.
Sizing the pumping station at 120 MLD peak against a 60 MLD plant is standard practice: sewage arrives in a daily peak that is roughly double the average, and the plant is designed on the average while the pumps have to handle the peak.
Low fee, serious deposit
The estimate is ₹1,81,27,00,000 on a percentage rate contract. The EMD is ₹1,82,00,000, close to 1 per cent, and the portal records exemption as allowed. The tender fee is only ₹1,000, and bids open at 3:00 PM on 28 October 2026, two hours after closing.
An STP is a set of large concrete tanks sunk into the ground, so the first six months is excavation and dewatering for excavators working below water table in parts of the Amritsar plain. Tank walls and rafts bring continuous transit mixer supply and a crane for shuttering, reinforcement cages and mechanical equipment. The pipeline leg is backhoe loader work across town, with a compactor reinstating behind. Dewatering pumps and a plan for the spoil are what keep this programme on schedule.
