Panchkula is rebuilding its storm water drains from the inside instead of digging up nine sector roads, and the ₹29.52 crore Panchkula storm water drain tender closes at 4:00 PM on 2 November 2026.
Nine sector boundaries, one outfall
Construction Division III of the Panchkula Metropolitan Development Authority, under the Haryana Government, is the inviting office. The work is strengthening and rehabilitation of storm water drains in diameters of 600 mm, 900 mm, 1,200 mm, 1,400 mm, 1,500 mm, 1,650 mm and 1,950 mm, starting from the Sector 7 by 18 dividing road and running through Sectors 8 by 17, 9 by 16, 10 by 15, 11 by 14 and Sector 12 by 12A up to the outfall at Singh Nallah Choe, using MWSL technology. The portal allows 630 days.
MWSL is a cured-in-place style lining method: a liner is drawn into the existing drain and hardened, giving a new pipe inside the old one without open-cut excavation. On sector dividing roads that are already built up, that is usually cheaper and far less disruptive than replacing the line.
Why the deposit looks large for the value
The estimate is ₹29,52,22,403 and the EMD is ₹59,05,000, which is 2 per cent, with exemption allowed per the portal. The tender fee is ₹20,000 and bids open at 5:00 PM on 2 November 2026, an hour after closing.
Lining work still needs access pits at manholes and junctions, bypass pumping while the drain is out of service, and reinstatement afterwards. That keeps a backhoe loader and a compact excavator busy at each access point, with a small compactor putting the road back. A pick and carry crane handles liner drums and equipment, and concrete mixers are needed for chamber repairs. For machine owners the attraction here is short, repeated hires across a two-year programme rather than one long deployment.
