Six road widening packages worth ₹428.8 crore came out together from the PWD Devipatan zone at Gonda, and every one of them in this Gonda road widening tender set closes at 12:00 noon on 31 October 2026.
One circle, six consecutive notices
The Superintending Engineer of Gonda Circle issued the lot on consecutive reference numbers dated 28 September 2026. The largest is the Utraula Ayodhya Sultanpur Prayagraj road, SH-09, at ₹131.8 crore under 4458/98Com/Gonda Circle/26-27. Next comes the Bahraich Faizabad Azamgarh road, SH-30, at ₹74.4 crore under 4461, then the Chandanjot Pokhara Belbhariya Gokran Shiwala road at ₹59.4 crore under 4459.
The remaining three are the Tarabganj Manahana Asartha Bazar Ghancha Semarasekhpur Chaukhadiya road at ₹59.1 crore under 4454, the Dhaurahara Sahpur Paska road at ₹59 crore under 4457, and the Ityathok Gopalbag Kamdawan Prithivinath Mandir road at ₹45.1 crore under 4462. All six are item-wise civil works contracts.
A short window and a soft EMD rule
These notices went live on 15 October 2026 and shut on 31 October, which leaves very little time. Read that as a sign the circle wants work awarded before the season turns. EMD runs at roughly 1 per cent of each package, from ₹50,00,000 on the Ityathok road to ₹1,31,80,000 on SH-09, and exemption is allowed on all six. The fee is ₹11,800 each.
Work periods are 540 days for SH-09, 450 days for four of the packages and 420 days for the Ityathok road. Bids open the same day they close, at 12:30 PM.
Six camps or one, your call
State highway widening in the Gonda and Bahraich belt is earthwork, granular layers and bitumen on an alignment that already carries traffic. Each package needs excavators and tippers for the shoulders, a motor grader and compactors for the layers, and a wheel loader feeding the hot mix plant. Culvert widening brings in transit mixers.
A contractor who takes two or three adjoining packages can run one plant and one set of road construction equipment across them. That is where the money is in a lot like this. Fleet owners around Gonda, Bahraich and Ayodhya are closest to the work.
