NH-37 Vehicular Underpass Tender: Underpass and Service Road near Charaideo, Assam (Rs 46.99 Cr)

NHIDCL is building a vehicular underpass with approaches and a service road on a one kilometre stretch of old NH-37 in Assam for Rs 46.99 crore, and the NH-37 vehicular underpass tender closes at 5:00 PM on 31 October 2026.

One kilometre, one structure

The work is construction of a vehicular underpass and its approaches along with a service road from km 442.700 to km 443.700 of old NH-37 near the Swargadeo Chaolun Siu-Ka-Pha Swamanway Kshetra in Assam, on EPC mode. NHIDCL at its New Delhi corporate office is the inviting authority, reference AS/NH37/JOR/VUP-SSKP/26-27/1, with 360 days allowed.

Rs 47 crore inside one kilometre tells you where the money goes: almost all of it is the underpass box, the retaining structures and the service road that keeps local traffic moving while the highway passes over. The site is next to a protected memorial complex, which usually brings conditions on working hours and site boundaries.

The deposit is Rs 46,99,000 at 1 per cent against the Rs 46,99,00,000 estimate, with an Rs 11,800 fee. Bids open at 11:00 AM on 2 November. A single structure contract suits a bridge specialist or a mid sized EPC firm with its own piling capacity.

Boxed structure in a high water table

Underpass work in the Brahmaputra valley means digging below the water table, so dewatering and shoring sit on the critical path from day one. Excavators with enough reach to work inside the shored pit do the bulk, and transit mixers feed the raft, walls and deck. A crane handles shuttering, reinforcement cages and precast elements. The service road and approaches need a compactor working in thin lifts against the structure, and a backhoe loader for drains and utility diversions.
