SH-42 Missing Link Tender: 35.8 km Between Hamirpur and Jhansi (Rs 129.60 Cr)

Uttar Pradesh PWD is building the missing 35.8 km of the Hamirpur to Jhansi road at ₹129.60 crore, and the SH-42 missing link tender closes at 12:00 noon on 5 November 2026.

Closing a gap on the Bundelkhand route

SH-42 runs from Hamirpur through Rath, Garautha and Gursarai to Jhansi. This contract builds the length that was never completed, from chainage 74.550 to chainage 110.360, across Hamirpur and Jhansi districts. The Superintending Engineer of Hamirpur Circle issues it under the Chief Engineer, Chitrakoot Dhaam (Banda) Zone, reference 1958/30C-Hamirpur Circle/2026 dated 07.10.2026.

A missing link is new construction, not repair. The alignment has to be formed from the ground up, which means earthwork, cross drainage and a full pavement crust over 35.81 km, inside 455 days.

A short window to bid

This one moves fast. It was published on 23 October and closes at noon on 5 November, with bids opened half an hour later the same day. If you are interested, the document download and site visit have to happen this week. EMD is ₹1,29,61,000 against an estimate of ₹1,29,60,10,000, so 1 per cent, and the fee is ₹6,250 on an item-wise contract.

Earthmoving first, and plenty of it

New formation in Bundelkhand means hard murrum and rock in places, so excavators with breakers earn their keep early. Tippers and wheel loaders move embankment material, a motor grader and compactors build and seal each layer, and box culverts along the route need concrete mixers. For owners in Jhansi, Hamirpur and Orai this is the kind of 15-month job worth chasing on hire, because the contractor will be short of machines in the first six months.
