Surat Municipal Corporation has two sewage treatment plants on the market under one drainage notice, 42 MLD and 53 MLD, worth Rs 149.38 crore together, with the first closing on 21 September 2026.
Two plants, one notice
Both works sit under notice DMC/Drainage/03/2026-27. Work No. 19 is a 42 MLD sewage treatment plant on open technology, covering design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning along with the piping, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation package, and it is estimated at Rs 69.43 crore. Work No. 20 is a 53 MLD plant at Kanakpur Kansad serving the newly added area of the New South Zone, estimated at Rs 79.95 crore and carrying a ten year operation and maintenance tail.
Who should look at these
These are process contracts wearing a civil contract jacket. A firm bidding either one needs a treatment technology it can stand behind, and for Work No. 20 the ten year operation period means the bid has to price a decade of running cost, not just a build. Earnest money tracks the estimate almost exactly in both cases, Rs 69,43,000 on the smaller work and Rs 79,95,334 on the larger, and the tender fee is Rs 35,400 for each.
What runs on site
The heavy machine phase is the tankage. Aeration tanks, clarifiers, sludge handling units and the inlet works all start as deep reinforced concrete structures, so excavators, dewatering sets, transit mixers and a concrete pump carry the early months. A mobile crane goes in for blower, pump and mechanical equipment erection. Once the structures are up the work shifts to piping, electricals and instrumentation, and the machine fleet on site drops sharply. Bid the machine cost against that front-loaded profile rather than spreading it evenly across the programme.
Note on the wider notice
The same drainage notice also carried sewage disposal works that are covered separately on DesiMachines. Read the two together if you are sizing up the corporation total for this year.
