Tandur and Kodangal Water Supply Tender, Telangana

Telangana is bidding a ₹77.50 crore water supply source improvement scheme for Tandur and Kodangal drawing from the Kagna river, closing 17 September 2026.

The scheme

Two municipalities, one new source. The Public Health and Municipal Engineering Department, through PH Unit 3 under TUFIDC, is taking the Kagna river as the source for Tandur and Kodangal and building the works that get water from there to both towns. Source improvement schemes of this type usually bundle an intake arrangement, a raw water main, treatment capacity, pumping and the feeder mains to the existing storage. Reference number is 02/SE/Unit III/Tandur and Kodangal/WSIS/110.cr/2026-27 dated 17 August 2026. Note that the reference carries a ₹110 crore sanction figure while the tendered estimate is ₹77.50 crore, so the notice is bidding a portion of the sanctioned scheme.

Bidding and eligibility

This is an open tender on a lump-sum basis with a single cover and 120-day bid validity, and withdrawal is not permitted. No earnest money figure is published on the notice and the tender fee shows as nil, which means the deposit conditions live in the bid document. The Superintending Engineer, PH Unit III TUFIDC Mahabubnagar is both the inviting and opening authority. TUFIDC-funded work runs on its own release schedule, so contractors who have worked with the corporation before will price the payment cycle more realistically than the headline value suggests. What the fleet looks like

A river source scheme splits into three machine phases. At the intake, excavators and often a long-boom machine work the riverbank, with dewatering and sheet piling if the intake well goes deep. Along the raw water and feeder mains, it is trenching at scale: excavators leading, a backhoe loader on the town sections and reinstatement, a hydraulic crane for pipe handling at larger diameters, and compactors rebuilding the trench. At the treatment and pumping sites, concrete drives the programme, so transit mixers, a pump and a batching arrangement. Tippers run through all three phases, and the Tandur belt’s rocky ground means a breaker attachment is worth having rather than hiring late.
