In February 2021, SANY announced that its SR235 rotary rig had been built at its Pune plant, its first piling rig made in India. Among piling rig manufacturers in India, three now state Indian manufacturing for piling equipment on their own sites: ACE, Eimco Elecon and SANY. Five more, BAUER, Casagrande, Junttan, Liebherr and Soilmec, name an Indian facility, company or dealer. Their rigs run from about 1.1 m wide and 20 m deep piles on the smallest models to 3 m and more than 100 m on the largest.
A rotary piling rig is a long-term bet for a foundation contractor, and the maker matters as much for the service van as for the spec sheet. This piece lists who makes and supports piling rigs in India, what each one says it builds, and how to narrow the list to the rig your work needs.
How this list of piling rig manufacturers in India was built
We opened the website of each piling rig maker that Indian contractors ask about on 13 October 2026. A maker is listed only if its own site names an Indian plant, company, facility or dealer, and every model figure below is quoted from that site. Where a maker’s pages give two different figures, we use the specification table and say so. Makers whose sites we could not read are left out, so the list is not exhaustive. It is alphabetical, not a ranking.
Rotary, CFA or driven: know which rig you need
Bridge, metro and building foundations in India commonly use bored cast-in-situ piles, drilled by a rotary rig with a kelly bar and then filled with a cage and concrete. Many rotary rigs can also drill continuous flight auger (CFA) piles, which are faster in suitable soil. A driven-pile rig instead hammers a precast or steel pile into place. Diaphragm walls for metro stations and basements use grabs or trench cutters, a separate class of equipment. The makers below differ most on which of these they cover.
The makers at a glance
| Maker | Indian presence (own site) | What it lists | Example model, as stated |
|---|---|---|---|
| ACE | Indian maker, plants in Faridabad | ACE-Sunward rotary rigs; FP 210 piling crane | SA 210: 1,800 mm, 50 m, 205 kN.m |
| BAUER | Production, sales and service facility in Pune (Sept 2026) | BG rotary rigs, trench cutters, diaphragm wall grabs | BG 33: 2,500 mm, 72.4 m, 342 kN.m |
| Casagrande | Indian company in Noida, on its dealer list | Rotary, CFA and displacement rigs; diaphragm wall equipment | B250 XP-2: 2,100 mm, 78 m, 263 kNm (table) |
| Eimco Elecon | Indian maker, Vallabh Vidyanagar, Gujarat | EC216 and EC267 piling rigs | EC216: 3,350 mm, 61 m, 21,500 kgf.m |
| Junttan | Dealer in Mumbai | Pile-driving rigs, hydraulic impact hammers | PMx22: 64,000 kg, 20 m max pile length |
| Liebherr | Liebherr India, Navi Mumbai (sales and service) | LB drilling rigs, LRB piling and drilling rigs | LB 20.1: 1,500 mm, 34.5 m, 200 kNm |
| SANY | SANY Heavy Industry India, Chakan, Pune | SR rotary rigs, rotary-plus-CFA rigs, grabs, trench cutters | SR235: 2,000 mm, 68 m, 235 kN.m |
| Soilmec | Subsidiary in Thane | SR rotary rigs (kelly and CFA), Hydromill | SR-75: 2,300 mm, 93 m, 293 kNm |
Diameter, depth and torque are each maker’s stated maximums for that model on 13 October 2026. Real capacity on your site depends on soil, casing and the kelly fitted.
What each maker says it builds
ACE
Action Construction Equipment was established in 1995 and has its plants in Faridabad, Haryana. It sells rotary rigs under the ACE-Sunward name: the SA 175 (1,500 mm, 44 m), SA 210 (1,800 mm, 50 m) and SA 250 (2,000 mm, 56 m), with the SA 210 brochure claiming 205 kN.m of torque. Its site does not say where the SA rigs are made. ACE also builds the FP 210, a 20-tonne pick-and-carry crane for cage lowering, concreting and casing removal, which is covered below.
BAUER
BAUER Maschinen of Germany makes the BG range of rotary rigs, from the BG 23 H (235 kN.m) to the BG 55 (553 kNm, 126 m, 3,700 mm), plus trench cutters and diaphragm wall grabs. On 21 September 2026 it announced a new production, sales and service facility in Pune with about 100 employees on 15,000 square metres. The announcement does not say which products are built there.
Casagrande
Casagrande of Italy lists rigs for rotary drilling, CFA, displacement piles and soil mixing, and diaphragm wall equipment. Its dealer page names Casagrande (India) Piling and Geotechnical Equipment in Noida. The B250 XP-2 page gives 263 kNm, 78 m and 2,100 mm in its specification table, but a different torque and depth in its introduction, so confirm the figures with the dealer.
Eimco Elecon
Eimco Elecon is based at Vallabh Vidyanagar near Anand, Gujarat, on a 15-acre site. It lists two piling rigs, the EC216 and EC267, described as “Designed in USA, Make in India”, with technical collaboration credited to CZM of the USA. Its brochures give a depth of 61 m and a diameter of 3,350 mm for both, and torque in kgf.m: 21,500 for the EC216 and 26,789 for the EC267. Ask about current production before you plan around either model.
Junttan
Junttan of Finland is a driven-pile specialist: its PM and PMx rigs drive steel, concrete or timber piles, and it makes hydraulic impact hammers. The PMx22 weighs about 64 tonnes and handles piles up to 20 m by its specification line. Its own contact page names Innovative Infra and Mining Solutions in Mumbai as its Indian sales and service dealer.
Liebherr
Liebherr makes LB drilling rigs, which it says reach over 120 m depth and diameters from 1.5 to 4.8 m, and LRB rigs for piling, vibrating, pressing and drilling. Liebherr India in Navi Mumbai, founded in 2006, handles sales and service of construction and earthmoving machinery; its India page does not name deep foundation rigs, so confirm local support before you buy.
SANY
SANY Heavy Industry India runs its plant at Chakan, Pune. Its Indian site lists rotary rigs from the SR65 C10 (1.1 m, 70 kN-m) to the SR445R H10 (3,000 mm, 116 m, 445 kN.m), a multi-function rig that switches between rotary and CFA, and diaphragm wall grabs and trench cutters. It is the only maker here to name a specific rig built in India, the SR235.
Soilmec
Soilmec, part of Italy’s Trevi Group, makes the SR series of rotary rigs with kelly and CFA modes, and Hydromill diaphragm wall equipment. The SR-45 can switch between kelly and CFA drilling in half a day, by its own description, and the SR-75 is rated at 293 kNm with 93 m depth. Its parent group’s network lists Soilmec Foundation Equipments as a Soilmec subsidiary in Thane.
Other makers sold through Indian dealers or not yet here
IMT of Italy, which makes hydraulic drill rigs such as the AF260 (260 kNm, 2,000 mm), names the same Mumbai dealer as Junttan. MAIT of Italy, XCMG and Zoomlion of China list rotary rigs on their global sites, but none of their sites named an Indian office or dealer when we checked; XCMG’s India site said only “Launching Soon”.
How to shortlist a piling rig
- Start from your piles. List the largest diameter and depth in the work you bid for, and the hardest stratum you expect. Rock sockets need far more torque than the same depth in soil.
- Decide whether you need CFA. If your clients specify CFA piles, choose a rig that converts, and check how long the change takes.
- Check who services it near you. A rig waiting for a kelly part stops the crane and the concrete crew with it.
- Decide whether to own at all. A rig only pays when it is drilling most of the month; the arithmetic is worked through in our guide to the piling rate per meter in India.
The machines that work around the rig
A bored-pile site needs more than a rig. A crane lowers the cage and handles the tremie and casing; the ACE FP 210 Piling Crane, a 20-tonne pick-and-carry crane with a 21 m boom and a 101 HP Tata engine, is built for that job and lists at around Rs 40-46 lakh ex-factory (indicative, as of Oct 2026). An excavator clears the spoil, and a backhoe loader handles the smaller site work. Budget for these with the rig.
The bottom line
The piling rig manufacturers in India range from Indian makers such as ACE and Eimco Elecon to SANY’s Pune-built rigs and European makers working through Indian companies and dealers. Size the rig to your largest piles and weigh the service network as heavily as the torque figure. To price the support fleet, compare cranes and check equipment finance options, and watch live bridge and tunnel work to judge demand for foundation contractors in your region.
