As of October 2026, eight PEB companies in India publish an Indian plant on their own websites or stock exchange filings: EPACK Prefab Technologies, Everest Industries, Interarch Building Solutions, Kirby Building Systems, Pennar Industries, Phenix Construction Technologies, Tata Steel Colors and Zamil Steel Buildings India. Six of them state a capacity in tonnes a year, the largest single filing being Interarch’s 2,45,000 tonnes. Plants cluster in Uttarakhand, Telangana, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, and the larger makers hand erection to empanelled contractors who bring their own cranes.
Two hundred and forty-five thousand tonnes. That is the installed capacity Interarch reported to the stock exchanges on 24 September 2026, after a new unit in Andhra Pradesh started production. It is also a sign of how fast this business is adding plants: Kirby broke ground on a fourth Indian plant three weeks earlier, and EPACK has land for a new one in Gujarat.
For a factory owner, a builder or a crane owner, the useful questions are simpler. Who makes the steel frame, where it comes from, and who puts it up on site. What a PEB shed costs per square foot, and when it beats an RCC frame, is covered in the warehouse shed cost guide, so this post does not repeat it.
How this list of PEB manufacturers in India was built
On 29 October 2026 we read the websites, annual reports and stock exchange filings of the pre-engineered building makers Indian buyers look up. A company is listed only if its own site or filing names a plant in India that makes PEB steel. Capacity is quoted only where the company states it, with the date it gives.
Four other names we checked were left out because we could not open a company site or filing that confirmed a plant: Jindal Buildsys, Lloyd Insulations, Multicolor Steels and Smith Structures. The list is alphabetical, not a ranking. Capacity figures are not measured the same way by every maker, so they do not order the list either.

A stated capacity is what the plant can make in a year, not what it ships. Interarch put its own utilisation at 70% in the September filing, and EPACK put its PEB utilisation at 75.2% at the end of June 2026.
What each maker says about its plants
EPACK Prefab Technologies
EPACK Prefab is listed on the NSE and BSE. Its first-quarter FY27 presentation counts 1,47,122 tonnes a year of PEB capacity across Greater Noida, Ghiloth and Mambattu, and says its Mambattu plant helped it win about 43% of its PEB revenue from South India. It has acquired land in Gujarat for a first phase of about 50,000 tonnes, planned by the end of FY27.
Everest Industries
Everest is better known for roofing sheets and boards, but it set up a PEB division in 2006 and sells steel buildings as Everest Steel Building Solutions. Its 2025-26 annual report gives 72,000 tonnes of annual production capacity for the business and lists the steel building works at Bhagwanpur, Dahej and Ranchi. The same report says PEB revenue fell 40% in FY26, which the company puts down to a focus on building execution capability before scaling up.
Interarch Building Solutions
Interarch, founded in 1983 in New Delhi and formerly named Interarch Building Products, is listed on the NSE and BSE. Its plant table lists Pantnagar (2005) and Kichha in Uttarakhand, two Tamil Nadu plants from 2007 and 2009, Andhra Pradesh units from 2024, and Kheda in Gujarat, whose first phase of 20,000 tonnes started in July 2026. A heavy steel structures unit in Andhra Pradesh lifted the total to 2,45,000 tonnes from 24 September 2026.
Kirby Building Systems
Kirby is owned by Alghanim Industries of Kuwait and has worked in India for more than 26 years. Its site lists the Telangana plant from 2000, Haridwar from 2006 and Halol from 2023, each at 100,000 tonnes a year. On 5 September 2026 it broke ground at Manapparai near Trichy for a fourth Indian plant of 100,000 tonnes, expected to start by mid-2027.
Pennar Industries
Pennar’s PEB page lists Sadashivpet at 90,000 tonnes, Velchal at 30,000 tonnes and Raebareli at 36,000 tonnes, a combined 1,56,000 tonnes a year on 54,000 square metres of built-up area. Its design team sits in Hyderabad, and it supplies a standing seam roof under a licence from NCI Group of the United States.
Phenix Construction Technologies
Phenix says its Sanand plant is rated at 72,000 tonnes a year and that Cheyyar added a first phase of 30,000 tonnes in 2024, with a second phase proposed. Its capabilities page gives total installed capacity as 1,03,800 tonnes; another page on the same site says 1,24,000 tonnes. Ask the company which figure is current.
Tata Steel Colors and Zamil Steel
Tata BlueScope Steel is now Tata Steel Colors, a Tata Steel subsidiary from December 2025. Its PEB offer is PEB-Lite, a light-gauge frame for small units, farm sheds, site offices and rooftops, and it does not publish a tonnage for it. Zamil Steel came to India in 2009 and runs its plant at Ranjangaon near Pune; its facility page gives no tonnage.
EPC contractors buy many of these frames as one package within a factory job, so the top EPC companies in India are often the real customers. The raw steel behind every frame comes from the mills in our list of steel companies in India.
Who erects the frame, and with which machines?
The maker designs and fabricates the frame, and in most cases a contractor bolts it up. Interarch reports 65 empanelled builders and erectors, Kirby says it has more than 150 certified builders in India, and Everest’s annual report counts 42 contractors engaged. Those erection crews hire or own the lifting machines, which is where a crane or telehandler owner finds the work.
A mid-size shed usually needs a pick-and-carry crane for columns and rafters, such as the Escorts HYDRA 14, rated at 14 tonnes with a 15.1 m maximum boom height, at about ₹19.5-21.5 Lakh (indicative, as of Oct 2026). Purlins, sheet bundles and bolt crates go up on a telehandler such as the SANY STH844A, which lifts 3,629 kg to 13.4 m, at about ₹39.9-44.1 Lakh (indicative, as of Oct 2026). Tall or long-span buildings call for a truck-mounted or crawler crane, and boom or scissor lifts carry the crew to the bolts.
The Indian rulebook for this work is IS 7205 : 1974, the BIS safety code for erection of structural steelwork. It says the crane should stand on level, firm ground; the load must be checked against the crane’s safe lifting capacity before slinging; and one person, given that task, gives hand signals. It also says the first roof truss is guyed on each side before the hoisting rope comes off, with wind bracing added as more trusses go up, so a sudden gale at night cannot blow the frame over. Build those steps into your erection quote.
The machines buyers ask about most for this kind of job, and the building tenders open now, are gathered under building construction equipment.
The bottom line
India’s PEB makers are adding plants in Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, and every new plant means more frames to lift. If you are buying a building, compare makers on the plant nearest your site, the erection contractor they will send and the date on their capacity claim. If you own a hydra or a telehandler, the empanelled erectors are your customers, and live building and shed tenders appear on the tenders and opportunities board.
Company details are taken from each maker’s own website, the Everest Industries annual report 2025-26, the EPACK Prefab investor presentation for Q1 FY27 and the Interarch stock exchange disclosure of 24 September 2026, as read on 29 October 2026. Safety points are from IS 7205 : 1974. The list is alphabetical and not a ranking. Rates, schemes, specifications and prices change; confirm current terms with the OEM, dealer, bank or insurer, or with the maker itself, before deciding.
