Light to lift but bulky to carry, blocks make the distance from the plant a big part of what you pay. This list of AAC block manufacturers in India names 10 national makers with plants in 15 states, so you can find the nearest plant to your site. Regional makers are listed on each state page.
Contractors who buy blocks and sheets, and owners who run the machines that unload and lift them, can use the list to see who makes what and where the plants are. A late truck leaves a telehandler or crane idle, so the maker you choose affects your machine hours as well as your material bill.

Which machines handle AAC blocks and roofing sheets on site?
Blocks and sheets reach the site on pallets and in bundles, and a machine has to carry them from the truck to the wall or the roof. AAC blocks chip at the edges when they are dropped, and fibre cement sheets crack if they bend or take a knock, so both need a smooth, flat lift. The right machine depends on how high the load goes and how far it travels.
A telehandler with forks lifts pallets of blocks and bundles of sheets to the upper floors, so your crew does not carry them up by hand. A crane does the same job on taller buildings. It also sets precast pieces, which are often too heavy for a telehandler, and wall panels such as the ones Magicrete and Biltech list in the table.
Around the building, a backhoe loader clears the plot and digs trenches, and it loads the debris once the walls are up. A skid steer loader with forks moves pallets and rubble across a tight site where a larger machine cannot turn.
If the work will run for months, check the monthly instalment with equipment finance before you decide between buying and hiring.
Most enquired models on DesiMachines for this work. Telehandlers: ACE AT 30 and JCB 530-110; cranes: Escorts F23 and ACE F150; backhoe loaders: JCB 3DX and Bull SD76 BS5 Super Smart; skid steer loaders: Bobcat S450 and JCB SSL 135.
How do contractors choose a supplier of AAC blocks and roofing sheets?
Start with the distance from the plant, because freight on bulky blocks adds up quickly and a long haul brings more delay and breakage. Ask for the delivery time in days and get it in writing. A late truck leaves your unloading machine and your crew idle.
Next, ask for the test certificate of the batch you are buying and check whether the product carries the BIS mark, the Bureau of Indian Standards certification. Blocks are graded by strength and density, so match the grade to the wall you are building. The AAC block guide covers block sizes and weight, and where each type is used.
Then settle credit terms and the minimum order. Many plants sell by the full truck, so a small site may do better buying from a dealer nearby. Work out your quantity first with the material calculation guide, and agree on who pays for blocks or sheets that break on the road.

Shortlist block and roofing sheet plants by distance first
Shortlist the plants nearest your site first, since distance sets the freight and the delivery time. Start with the 10 national makers in the table, then open your state page to find the regional makers close to you. Check the batch certificate and the BIS mark before you order, and book the telehandler or crane before the first truck arrives. If you hire out your own machine, a plant that delivers on a fixed day keeps the machine earning.
If your project needs a lifting machine for only a few weeks, you can hire a machine and compare the cost with buying before you commit.
Plant locations and product ranges change. Confirm current details with the company, and confirm machine prices and finance terms with the OEM, dealer or bank before deciding.
