Which Kalpataru website does a crane or excavator owner register on? None: as of November 2026 Kalpataru Projects International Ltd (KPIL) runs no public vendor sign-up page, so Kalpataru Projects vendor registration starts with its procurement team. The company’s own sustainability report confirms a vendor registration and onboarding process, in which every supplier must sign the Kalpataru Supplier Code of Conduct, and enquiries and quotes then move through a Procure-to-Pay (P2P) platform launched in 2025-26. No fee is published. KPIL reports 120 days of accounts payable for that year, so price the wait into your hire rate.

KPIL is the listed EPC company that used to be Kalpataru Power Transmission and later absorbed JMC Projects. It reported consolidated revenue of Rs 27,143 crore and an order book of Rs 65,457 crore at 31 March 2026, with 193 project sites in India, 64 abroad and four plants. Do not confuse it with Kalpataru Ltd, the group’s real-estate developer. They are separate companies, and the group’s supplier code even lists a different ethics contact for each. Everything below comes from kalpataruprojects.com, the Kalpataru Supplier Code of Conduct and KPIL’s Integrated Annual Report 2025-26, as read on 3 November 2026.

Where Kalpataru Projects vendor registration actually happens

Start with what is missing. The KPIL website menus link no vendor, supplier or partner page, and the obvious addresses (/vendor-registration, /supplier-registration, /partner-with-us) all return “page not found”. The contact page has one general form asking for your name, company name, nature of business, nature of communication, email and phone, plus a business enquiries address, info@kalpataruprojects.com. That is the only public door.

Behind it, a process does exist. KPIL’s Business Responsibility and Sustainability Report (BRSR) for 2025-26 says every supply chain partner must formally acknowledge the Supplier Code of Conduct as “a mandatory requirement during the vendor registration and onboarding process”. The same report records training on a “newly launched Procure-to-Pay (P2P) platform” that covers RFQ issuance and vendor quotation submission, attended by suppliers who account for about 35% of the company’s purchases by value. KPIL does not name the software or publish a link to it.

One address is worth knowing about. On 3 November 2026 supplier.kalpataruprojects.com existed but answered every public request with “403 Forbidden”, and the old supplier.kalpatarupower.com address pointed to the same host. KPIL links neither from its website. If you are onboarded, expect a login there or wherever the procurement team sends you. For the older Kalpataru Power Transmission vendor registration, nothing remains public: www.kalpatarupower.com did not respond, and the company changed its name in 2023.

Question What KPIL publishes (as read on 3 November 2026)
Public registration form None; general contact form and info@kalpataruprojects.com only
Onboarding step it confirms Signed Kalpataru Supplier Code of Conduct, mandatory
Enquiries and quotes Procure-to-Pay platform, launched 2025-26
Who counts as a supplier Product suppliers, sub-contractors and service providers
Fee Not published
Validity or renewal Not published
Ethics and bribery reports abms@kalpataruprojects.com

The process sits close to the ones at L&T vendor registration and Tata Projects vendor registration, minus the public form both of those offer. A KPIL vendor code comes from being asked to quote, usually by a project site that needs something.

Which KPIL businesses buy machine work?

KPIL works in six businesses, and they do not hire the same machines. The shares below are of the standalone company’s turnover in 2025-26, as given in the BRSR. The fleet notes come from KPIL’s business pages and annual report.

Business Share of turnover What it builds, and what KPIL owns
Transmission and distribution 38.62% Lines up to 800 kV and substations; owns 50+ sets of tension stringing equipment, cranes and forklifts
Buildings and factories 29.98% Residential and commercial buildings, factories, hospitals; Rs 18,295 crore order book
Oil and gas 11.73% Cross-country pipelines up to 56 inch; owns HDD rigs of 60 to 360 tonnes and 40 to 102-tonne sidebooms
Water 9.10% Intakes, treatment plants, pipelines; 45,000+ km of piped network laid
Infrastructure 4.99% Metros, flyovers, highways; owns tunnel boring machines
Railways 4.80% Electrification, track laying, earthwork, stations

The pattern is that KPIL owns the specialist kit and needs help with the ordinary work around it. A pipeline spread brings its own sidebooms and HDD rigs, but the right-of-way still needs trenching and backfill. A transmission line has its stringing sets, but foundations need digging and materials need lifting at every tower location. The annual report also says KPIL buys from “local and small scale vendors near our project sites”, which suggests the site procurement office is where a local hire firm gets noticed.

One warning for anyone chasing transmission work. In October 2025 KPIL erected a 765 kV tower with a Double Arm Gin Pole crane system, which it says no EPC company in India had used on a line before, and the system reached 10.85 tonnes of steel a day on its second deployment. Mobile cranes still do the lifting at yards, substations and stores, but tower erection itself may need fewer hired cranes over time.

What KPIL asks a supplier to sign

The Kalpataru Supplier Code of Conduct (version 4, revised 17 September 2024) applies across the group, KPIL included. It defines a supplier to include a “Contractor” doing sub-contract jobs and a “Service Provider” of any service, so an equipment hire firm is inside it. Three parts matter to a small firm.

First, the paperwork. Annexure 1 is a declaration listing any relatives who work at a Kalpataru company or a competitor, and any relatives with business ties to either. Annexure 3 is your signed promise to follow the code. Second, the gift rule is specific: small festive sweets are fine, but gifts above Rs 500 are not, and breaking the anti-bribery clause leads to blacklisting. Third, KPIL may audit your records and sites, and the code passes the client’s contract terms down to you “on back to back basis”. On a state utility line, the utility’s labour and safety terms become yours.

Note who sits above KPIL as well. Its BRSR says it sources “from client-approved vendors, in alignment with project requirements”. On a POWERGRID line or a state water scheme, the client may have to accept a sub-contractor before KPIL can use one.

Is there a fee, and what does KPIL say about fraud?

No fee appears anywhere KPIL controls: the website, the supplier code and the 2025-26 annual report are silent on one. KPIL’s only published fraud notice sits on its Careers page and covers recruitment, where the company says it takes no payment, deposit or gift from candidates at any stage. There is no matching notice for vendors. If an agent offers to get you “registered with Kalpataru” for a fee, ask info@kalpataruprojects.com before paying, and report attempts at bribery to abms@kalpataruprojects.com.

How fast KPIL pays, by its own figures

The Integrated Annual Report 2025-26 carries the BRSR, and these are its figures for the standalone company.

Measure FY2025 FY2026
Days of accounts payable 132 120
Input material sourced directly from MSMEs and small producers 7.75% 9.80%
Input material sourced from within India 90% 89.48%
Trading houses bought from 926 1,415

A payable figure of 120 days is an average over everything KPIL buys, steel and cement included, so a single hire bill may clear sooner or later. It is still four months. A firm paying a monthly EMI on a machine should register on Udyam before the first order and agree the bill certification cycle in writing. The same report counts 111+ significant suppliers, of which 28 went through the KalpaSetu ESG assessment, and 300+ MSME vendors engaged. A two-machine hire firm will not be in the first group, and nothing in the report suggests it needs to be.

Machines a hire vendor puts on a KPIL site

KPIL’s water division fitted fuel catalysts to its pick-and-carry cranes and backhoe loaders in 2025-26, which shows the kind of machine its sites use every day. A 14-tonne pick-and-carry crane such as the ACE 14XW, with a 15.1 m maximum lifting height as per the current Nov 2026 spec, suits tower yards, substation stores and pipe stacking. Water and gas pipeline trenching calls for a 20-tonne class excavator like the Tata Hitachi EX 210LC Prime (20,600 kg operating weight). Village distribution lines, house connections and tower-site clearing are backhoe work, the job a JCB 3DX (49 HP gross) is bought for.

The question to put to KPIL’s procurement team

Ask this before you move a machine: “Will my firm be registered on your P2P platform with a vendor code, or will this site hire me through one of your sub-contractors, and how many days after you certify my bill does payment go out?” The answer tells you whose terms you work under and how long you wait for money. If it is closer to 120 days than 30, plan the gap with equipment finance before you sign.

Figures come from kalpataruprojects.com, the Kalpataru Supplier Code of Conduct (version 4, September 2024) and KPIL’s Integrated Annual Report 2025-26 with its BRSR, as read on 3 November 2026. Machine specifications are indicative and vary by variant and date. Portals, documents and supplier terms change. Confirm the current process with Kalpataru Projects International’s procurement team before you register, quote or move a machine.
