A National Highway zone rate schedule in Chhattisgarh prices bituminous concrete only as mixed in a batch-type plant of at least 100-120 TPH. That one line decides which of the hot mix plant manufacturers in India a road contractor can buy from. Five makers state on their own sites that they build asphalt plants here: Ammann India, Atlas Industries, Kaushik Engineering Works, Speedcrafts and Vinayak Equipments. Batch plants on their lists run from 80 to 260 TPH and drum mix plants from about 15 to 150 TPH.
A hot mix plant is the biggest single purchase most road contractors make, and the most expensive one to get wrong, because the wrong type can shut you out of the work you bought it for. This piece lists who makes asphalt plants in India, what each one says it builds, and the checks that matter before you sign.
How this list of hot mix plant manufacturers in India was built
We started from the asphalt plant makers that Indian road contractors ask about and opened each company’s own website on 13 October 2026. A maker is listed only if its own site, or its own brochure, says it makes asphalt plants and gives its Indian base. Every capacity below is quoted from that maker’s site. Makers whose sites we could not read are left out, so the list is not exhaustive. It is alphabetical and is not a ranking.
Three names that often come up did not make it. Apollo Inffratech’s own site now lists concrete machines and no asphalt plants; its asphalt line continues under Ammann. Linnhoff’s and Marini’s sites could not be read from our side. Wirtgen sells a mobile asphalt plant in India, but its site says that plant is built in Brazil, so it is covered separately below.
Batch, drum or counterflow: decide this first
The plant type decides your maker shortlist more than the brand does. A batch mix plant weighs each batch of aggregate, filler and bitumen and mixes it in a pugmill, so the mix is controlled batch by batch. A drum mix plant dries and mixes continuously in one drum; it is simpler and cheaper, and it is common on state and rural roads. A counterflow drum moves the aggregate against the flame for better heat use. Mobile versions of drum plants are mounted so they can move from job to job.
Before choosing, read the specification in the contracts you actually bid for. Chhattisgarh PWD’s Schedule of Rates for Road and Bridge Works, NH zone, effective 1 June 2021, applies to the state’s NH zone and to road ministry work in the state. It prices bituminous macadam and bituminous concrete as mixed in a “minimum 100-120 TPH capacity batch type hot mix plant”, and dense bituminous macadam with a minimum 40-60 TPH batch-type plant. A drum mix plant does not fit those items, however good it is.

What each maker says it builds
Ammann India
Ammann India is the Indian arm of the Ammann Group, and its India brochure names a manufacturing facility at Ditasan in Mehsana, Gujarat. Ammann’s India site says the business began here as a joint venture with Apollo in Ahmedabad. Its India batch range includes the ANP 1500 at 120 t/h, the ANP 2000 at 160 t/h, the ABC EcoTec at 80-120 t/h and the ABC ValueTec at 140-260 t/h. The DM 60, DM 90 and DM 120 drum mix plants are rated at 60, 90 and 120 t/h, with a mobile version as an option, and the ACC CounterMix counterflow plant runs at 90-120 t/h. Its India brochure states that the UniBatch plant can take up to 40-45% recycled asphalt.
Atlas Industries
Atlas Industries is based at Dediyasan in Mehsana, Gujarat. Its site lists batch plants at 80, 120, 160, 200 and 260 TPH, stationary and mobile drum mix plants, counterflow plants up to 150 TPH and a portable 20-30 TPH drum mixer. The drum mix ceiling is given as 150 TPH on the home page and as 120 TPH, with larger sizes made to order, on the product page. It says it has exported plants to countries including Nepal, Oman and Algeria.
Kaushik Engineering Works
Kaushik Engineering Works says it manufactures in-house at the Sanand GIDC estate near Ahmedabad. Its stationary drum mix models run from the KEW-45 at 40-60 TPH to the KEW-65 at 120-150 TPH, and its mobile models from the MDM 25 at 20-30 TPH to the MDM 60 at 90-120 TPH. It also makes batch mix and wet mix macadam plants, though its batch plant page gives no capacity. It describes its drum mix plants as compliant with MoRTH specifications.
Speedcrafts
Speedcrafts was established in 1971 in Patna, Bihar, and says it runs two factories, in Patna and Hardwar. It builds batch mix plants from the BM 80 to the BM 200 (80-200 TPH), using design and technology from a European company, and drum mix plants from the DM 20 (15-20 TPH) to the DM 150 (120-150 TPH). Its smallest machine is the SBM-10 mobile bitumen mixer at 6-10 TPH. It says it supplies to over 60 countries.
Vinayak Equipments
Vinayak Equipments is located in Ahmedabad and describes itself as ISO 9001:2015 certified. Its batch range covers the ABP-80, ABP-120 and ABP-160, rated at 80, 120 and 160 TPH, and its drum mix plants come as stationary DM and mobile MDM models from 40-60 to 90-120 TPH, with larger sizes on request. Its export list includes Nigeria, Kenya, Oman, the UAE, Bhutan and Sri Lanka.
An imported option: Wirtgen’s CIBER plants
Wirtgen India, which has a factory near Pune, offers the CIBER iNOVA 2000 wheel-mounted continuous asphalt plant in India, rated at 100 to 200 t/h. The group’s own site says CIBER plants are made in Porto Alegre, Brazil. Treat it as an imported mobile plant, with service and parts lead times to match.
What to check before you buy
- Size the plant to your real daily tonnes, not the biggest job you hope to win. An idle 160 TPH plant costs more to run than a busy 90 TPH one.
- Match the type to your contracts. If your tenders specify a batch-type plant for BM and BC, a drum mix plant cannot bid for that work.
- Ask how far the nearest service engineer and spares stock are from your site. A plant that stops for a burner part stops your paver and rollers too.
- Get the pollution consents sorted before delivery. Siting rules and the consent to establish are covered in our guide to starting a hot mix plant business.
- Price bitumen supply along with the plant. Who supplies bitumen near you is set out in our list of bitumen manufacturers in India.
The machines that work around the plant
A hot mix plant only earns when the laying crew keeps up. A wheel loader feeds the cold bins, tippers carry the mix, and the mat is finished by a tandem roller such as the SANY STR90C-10 Pro and a pneumatic tyre roller such as the SANY SPR260C-10 PRO. Budget for these with the plant, because a shortage of rollers caps your output no matter what the plant is rated at.
The bottom line
The hot mix plant manufacturers in India listed here cover everything from a 6-10 TPH mobile mixer to 260 TPH batch plants. Start from the specification in the tenders you bid for, which usually settles batch against drum, then compare makers on capacity, service reach and parts. When you are ready to price the rest of the paving set, compare road rollers and motor graders and check equipment finance options for the package, and watch live road construction work to judge demand in your area.
Maker details and capacities are taken from each company’s own website on 13 October 2026 and can change. The list is alphabetical, not a ranking, and not exhaustive. Rates, schemes, specifications and prices change. Confirm current terms with the OEM, dealer, bank or insurer before deciding.
