As of Nov 2026, five slewing bearing manufacturers in India name a plant in India on their own websites: AKSH Manufacturing (Pune), Kavitsu Robotronix (Satara), Laulagun Bearings India (Gummidipoondi, near Chennai), RotaryMaster Manufacturing (Chennai) and Rothe Erde India (near Nashik). Their published diameters run from 100 mm to 6,000 mm. Before you order a replacement for an excavator or crane, match the bearing type, gear, bolt pattern and raceway hardness to the old ring.
Five metres. That is the largest diameter the thyssenkrupp rothe erde group gives for slewing bearings made by its Indian company near Nashik, which builds wind turbine blade bearings among other work. A 20-tonne excavator turns on a far smaller ring, and India has makers at both ends of the range.
Below are the five makers we could verify, what each says it makes, and what to ask a supplier when your machine needs a new ring. What a slewing ring does, how it wears and how to test one are covered in the excavator slewing ring guide, so this piece does not repeat them.
How this list of slewing bearing manufacturers in India was built
On 6 November 2026 we opened the websites of the companies that come up when Indian buyers look for slewing bearings, slew rings and swing bearings. A company is listed only if its own site names a plant in India and says it makes slewing bearings there.
Firms that appear only on B2B marketplaces were left out, as were global brands whose sites name no Indian plant. We also set aside a large Indian bearing maker whose wind brochure covers the roller bearings inside pitch and yaw drive gearboxes, not the slewing ring itself. We found no dated public ranking of slewing bearing output in India, so the list is alphabetical. It is not complete.
Slewing bearing makers at a glance

As stated on each maker’s site on 6 November 2026. A listed type or size is not a promise that it is made at the Indian plant or held in stock, so ask.
What each maker says it makes
AKSH Manufacturing
AKSH started as AKSH Udyog in September 2005 and says its slew bearings and slew drives are made entirely in India. Its slew ring page lists 66 standard variants from 120 mm to 2,500 mm outer diameter, with and without gear, built on a crossed roller design it calls “Roller Criss-Cross”. The site places two units at Pirangut, on the Lavasa Road side of Pune. It names truck cranes, aerial work platforms, jib cranes and defence among its users, and its FAQ adds excavators.
Kavitsu Robotronix
Kavitsu made planetary gear systems for more than 30 years before it set up Kavitsu Robotronix as a dedicated slew ring plant in Additional MIDC, Satara. Its slew ring page covers single-row, double-row, three-row roller and crossed roller types from 200 mm to 6,000 mm, in 42CrMo alloy steel with induction-hardened raceways of 55 to 62 HRC. A separate excavator page offers swing bearings for OEMs and the aftermarket.
Its infrastructure page lists the machines behind that range: a 3,200 mm vertical turning lathe, two of 1,800 mm, a gear shaper for 3,000 mm and an induction hardening machine imported from Italy. For a ring larger than those machines, ask where it will be turned and cut. Its ISO 9001:2015 certificate from TUV India names slew ring bearings and slew drives in its scope and is valid to 27 April 2027.
Laulagun Bearings India
Laulagun is a Spanish maker founded in 1973 and part of Groupe Legris Industries since 2019. Its milestones page records a new production plant in India in 2021, and its address is the SIPCOT park at Gummidipoondi, north of Chennai. Wind turbine pitch and yaw bearings are the core of its work, by its own description. It also lists bearings for tower cranes, mobile cranes and civil engineering machinery, and large bearings for mining excavators. No size range is published on the pages we read.
RotaryMaster Manufacturing
RotaryMaster grew out of SlewMaster, a company set up in Mississauga, Canada in 2012, and describes its Chennai unit as making slewing products 100% in India. Its slew ring page, still written in the SlewMaster name, lists four-point contact rings in single and double row from 100 mm to 2 m, with external teeth, internal teeth or none. It quotes C45 or 42CrMo4 steel with raceways hardened to 50 to 54 HRC. Its named uses are cranes, man lifts and turntables.
Rothe Erde India
Rothe Erde India is the Indian company of the thyssenkrupp rothe erde group, whose locations page puts its plant at Wadivarhe, post Gonde, in Igatpuri taluka of Nashik district. A group press release of January 2023 says the plant has run since 2007, added a line for about 1,300 wind blade bearings a year, and that 450 of the group’s more than 6,200 staff work in India. For excavators the group lists four-point, double four-point and three-row cylindrical roller bearings. It does not say which of those types Nashik makes, so ask.
Which machines on Indian sites turn on a slewing bearing?
Every crawler excavator does. On a 20-tonne machine such as the Tata Hitachi EX 210 Infra or the Tata Hitachi EX 200 Infra, the ring turns the upper house at 13.7 rpm, per the current Nov 2026 specification. The makers above also name truck-mounted and tower cranes, and Kavitsu lists piling rigs, the machines covered in piling rig manufacturers in India. If you are pricing a machine rather than a ring, compare the range of excavators first.
A slewing bearing is made to fit one machine design. Kavitsu, for example, describes its excavator bearings as designed to fit various excavator models and OEM requirements. So a replacement is ordered by matching the old ring and the machine maker’s part number, the same way the pumps and valves inside the machine are traced to their suppliers in hydraulic pump manufacturers in India.
What to ask a slewing bearing supplier
A slewing ring that is a few millimetres out on its bolt circle will not go on, and one with softer raceways will go on and wear early. Put these items in writing before you pay.
| Ask about | What to match | Example from a maker’s published spec |
|---|---|---|
| Bearing type | Single-row ball (four-point contact), double-row ball, crossed roller or three-row roller, same as the old ring | Rothe Erde lists all three main types for excavators |
| Gear | Internal or external teeth, tooth count and module, so the swing pinion meshes | Kavitsu and RotaryMaster offer internal, external or no gear |
| Dimensions and bolts | Outer and inner diameter, height, bolt hole count, hole size and pitch circle on both rings | AKSH posts dimension and technical data sheets for its standard series |
| Raceway hardness | A hardness figure and the hardening method, in writing | Kavitsu 55 to 62 HRC; RotaryMaster 50 to 54 HRC |
| Certificate | Quality certificate whose scope names slewing bearings and the plant address | Kavitsu’s ISO 9001:2015 scope names its Satara plant |
ISO 9001 certifies how a company runs its quality system, not your bearing. Check that the body that issued it is accredited; in India, NABCB, the accreditation board of the Quality Council of India, lists the certification bodies it accredits. Then ask for a dimension and hardness report for the actual ring you are buying.
Before you order a replacement slewing bearing
- Read the part number and any maker’s stamp off the old ring, and get the machine maker’s part number from the dealer or parts book.
- Write down the type, gear position, tooth count, diameters, height and bolt pattern, and send them with a drawing or photo.
- Ask which plant will make your ring, and whether that size is made in India or brought in.
- Get the raceway hardness, the hardening method and the delivery date in writing.
- Check the certificate scope and the certifying body.
- Order new bolts, and plan the crane, workshop days and lost hire as part of the cost.
If the ring is worn on a machine you were about to buy, that cost belongs in the price you offer; weigh it against a machine that does not need the work, among current crane models and prices or excavators.
Company details are taken from each maker’s own website and documents as read on 6 November 2026. The list is alphabetical and not a ranking. Specifications, sizes and certificates change; confirm current details with the bearing maker, the machine OEM or your dealer before you order.
