Haridwar Ganga Embankment Tender: Two Bund Packages on the Right Bank (Rs 233.76 Cr)

Uttarakhand has put ₹233.76 crore of Ganga flood embankment work out in two packages under one notice in Haridwar district, and both halves of the Haridwar Ganga embankment tender close at 4:00 PM on 31 October 2026.

One notice, two bunds, the same river bank

Both packages sit under reference 15/SE/2026-27 dated 12-10-2026 from the Irrigation Work Circle Dehradun, under the Chief Engineer Irrigation and Flood Garhwal. Tender ID 2026_IRDCE_101237_1 covers strengthening of the Bishanpur, Kundi, Bhogpur, Balawali and Balawali Khanpur embankment under CM Announcement No. 739/2025 (Part-2) at ₹130.18 crore. Tender ID 2026_IRDCE_101237_2 covers reconstruction and strengthening of the Balawali to Khanpur bund on the right bank of the Ganga in Haridwar district at ₹103.58 crore.

They are being treated here as one job because they are one job: the same notice, the same circle, the same bank of the same river, the same closing hour and the same 545-day period. Balawali and Khanpur appear in both scopes. A bidder who takes one and not the other ends up sharing a borrow area and a haul road with a competitor.

Two deposits, two bids, one mobilisation

Package 1 carries an EMD of ₹1,55,17,000 and package 2 an EMD of ₹1,28,58,000, both with no exemption allowed. The tender fee is ₹5,900 for each. Both are item rate contracts with 545 days, and bids for both open at 5:00 PM on 31 October 2026, an hour after closing.

Flood embankment work on the Ganga has a hard calendar: the bund has to be at section and protected before the next high water. That is the real deadline, not the 545 days. Uttarakhand also has the Gangotri Dharasu NH-34 package live, and the Rudrapur Kashipur water supply schemes are open from the same state.

Earth, stone and a river that does not wait

Bund work is bulk earthmoving plus protection. Excavators load tippers from borrow areas and shape the section, compactors build the fill in layers, and a motor grader keeps the crest and haul roads usable. Bank protection means boulder, crate and launching apron work, where a long-boom excavator and a crane place material at the toe. Wheel loaders keep the stone yard turning. Machines working on a river edge need recovery gear on hand, because soft ground claims one every season.
