NHAI has two packages of the six-lane Indore Eastern Bypass on the market, worth ₹3,617.38 crore together, with both closing on 14 September 2026.
A 75 km greenfield ring around Indore
Package 1 runs from design chainage km 64.000 near Pirkaradiya village to km 113.000 on NH-347BG near Simrol and Datoda, a stated length of 49.00 km through Indore and Dewas districts. It carries the larger estimate at ₹2,271.73 crore.
Package 2 picks up where the first ends, running from km 113.000 near Simrol and Datoda to km 139.630 at Nanded, and adds a separate stretch: rehabilitation and upgrade of existing NH-52 from km 18.000 at Khandwa to km 27.000 at Ahilyapur, taking it from four lanes to six. That package is estimated at ₹1,345.65 crore.
Both are six-lane access-controlled greenfield work on hybrid annuity mode, and both have been in the market a long time. They were published on 3 February 2026 and have been extended six times since, the most recent corrigendum dated 1 July 2026.
Who bids at this level
Earnest money is ₹22,72,00,000 on Package 1 and ₹13,46,00,000 on Package 2. Both work out to almost exactly one per cent of the estimate, the standard NHAI figure, which confirms the values. Tender fees are ₹2,30,000 and ₹1,40,000 respectively, and bid validity runs 120 days on each.
Hybrid annuity means the concessionaire funds a share of construction and recovers it through annuity payments, so bidders need balance sheet depth as well as a road building record. The firms NHAI has drawn for highway work of this size in Madhya Pradesh are the national names, and a package near ₹2,300 crore is not open to a regional contractor as lead bidder.
For fleet owners the calculation is different and more useful. Seventy-five kilometres of greenfield six-lane construction in one district cluster, awarded in two packages that will run concurrently, is one of the larger sustained equipment demands Madhya Pradesh will see. That demand arrives as subcontract earthwork and machine hire, and it lands within months of award.
The fleet a greenfield six-lane pulls in
Greenfield alignment means starting from farmland. Bulk cut and fill over 49 km runs on large excavators, dozers and tipper fleets working in a chain, with motor graders trimming formation and heavy compactors behind them on every layer.
Structures along an access-controlled corridor bring their own demand: vehicular underpasses, flyovers at the crossings and the interchange work all need cranes, piling rigs and concrete mixers fed by batching plants set near the alignment. Wheel loaders keep aggregate moving at the stockpiles and crusher. Owners planning to add capacity against work like this can read our equipment finance guide.

FAQ
What is the Indore Eastern Bypass tender worth?
₹3,617.38 crore across two packages: ₹2,271.73 crore for Package 1 and ₹1,345.65 crore for Package 2.
How long is the bypass?
Package 1 covers 49.00 km from km 64.000 to km 113.000. Package 2 runs from km 113.000 to km 139.630 and also upgrades 9 km of existing NH-52 from four lanes to six.
What does hybrid annuity mode mean for a bidder?
The successful bidder funds part of construction and recovers it through annuity payments from NHAI, so financial capacity counts alongside construction experience.
Is there work here for smaller firms?
Not as lead bidder. The realistic route is subcontract earthwork and structures packages, plus equipment hire once the contracts are awarded.
