Manoharpur Coal Logistics Tender: Hauling 5 Million Tonnes to MAHAGENCO Plants

Five million tonnes of coal have to move from Manoharpur mine to power stations in Maharashtra, and the Manoharpur coal logistics tender for that haulage closes at 5:00 PM on 17 November 2026.

An integrated job, not a trucking rate

Odisha Coal and Power Limited wants integrated coal logistics services for the transportation of 5 million tonnes from Manoharpur Coal Mine to various power plants of MAHAGENCO, delivered on a FOR destination basis. Reference is OCPL/SER-249/2026 and the portal files it under handling and transportation on an item wise contract.

FOR destination is the phrase that decides the shape of the bid. The contractor is paid on coal landed at the power station, not on tonne kilometres run, so loading at the mine, the road leg to the siding, rail movement and unloading at the plant all sit inside one price. Shortage and transit loss are yours.

The money and the equipment profile

The portal shows no tender value. EMD is ₹5,00,00,000 with exemption allowed, which at 2 per cent points to roughly ₹250 crore. Take that as a guide only. The fee is ₹20,000 and bids open at 3:30 PM on 18 November. The scale is right for a logistics company with its own tipper fleet and rail siding experience, or a consortium pairing a transporter with a mine handling contractor.

This is the second coal logistics contract Odisha Coal and Power has put out this month, and the two are separate jobs. The earlier one, the 2.25 million tonne haul from the same mine to NTPC plants, is a different reference and about half the size. Odisha has plenty of civil work open too, including the ten state plan road widening packages.

Loaders, tippers and a plan for the monsoon

Coal handling at the mine end means large wheel loaders working stock, or excavators loading over the side where the pile is deep, into a tipper fleet sized for the lead to the siding. Haul road upkeep is a contract cost people forget: a motor grader and a compactor on standby save far more in tyres and cycle time than they cost. Keep a backhoe loader at the siding for spillage.
