Nine level crossings on the Palanpur, Samakhiali and Gandhidham line are to be replaced with road under bridges, and the ₹146.45 crore Palanpur Gandhidham RUB tender closes on 13 October 2026.
Nine crossings on a freight-heavy line
Western Railway’s Ahmedabad division wants level crossings No. 79, 90, 107, 108, 115, 116, 201, 212 and 220 eliminated by building road under bridges, all under the jurisdiction of the Senior Divisional Engineer (North West), Ahmedabad. The tender reference is DRM-ADI-141-2026-27.
This line carries container and bulk trains to Kandla and Mundra, so every gate closure holds up road traffic for long spells. Building nine RUBs under traffic blocks means box pushing or cast-in-situ boxes with careful block planning.
Deposit and bidder fit
EMD is ₹2,92,90,300, which is 2 per cent of the estimate. The portal lists the form of contract as works and does not state a tender fee, opening date or completion period on the summary, so read the NIT for those. No corrigendum had been issued at the time of writing.
Each RUB needs a deep excavation, dewatering, precast or cast boxes and approach roads with retaining walls. Excavators and backhoe loaders do the digging, a crane sets precast units during the block, and transit mixers handle the in-situ concrete. Approaches need compactors and a motor grader. With nine sites spread over the section, contractors will hire locally around Palanpur, Radhanpur and Samakhiali.
