JSW vendor registration for a machine owner happens at the JSW plant, mine or cement unit that wants the machines, through its commercial team or buyer. As read on 2 November 2026, jsw.in, jswsteel.in and jswcement.in carry no open sign-up form for new suppliers. JSW’s vendor portal at vendorportal.jsw.in lets in only firms that already hold a JSW vendor code: you log in with that code, your PAN and an OTP. Contractors are then screened through a safety Pre-Qualification Audit, and every supplier signs up to the JSW Supplier Code of Conduct. JSW publishes no registration fee and names no agent, so treat a paid “JSW vendor code” offer as a warning sign.

That makes JSW different from the two routes most hire firms already know. A PSU such as SAIL qualifies contractors tender by tender, as the guide to SAIL vendor registration explains. L&T runs a public partner portal anyone can sign up on, covered in the guide to L&T vendor registration. JSW sits in between: the systems are digital, but the front door is the plant.

Where JSW vendor registration happens

Neither the jsw.in nor the jswsteel.in sitemap lists a vendor, supplier or procurement page. The JSW Steel contact form is built for steel buyers, with a product list and a delivery timeline, and the group contact form lists businesses (Steel, Energy, Cement and so on) with no vendor option. The JSW Cement website has no vendor page either.

What does exist is the JSW vendor portal. Its login asks for two things only: a vendor code and a PAN. There is no “new vendor” button. Since 5 March 2024 it also sends an OTP to the mobile number JSW holds for you, and if that number is missing or has changed, the portal tells you to contact your “Location Commercial/Buyer”. That line is the clearest statement JSW makes about who owns the vendor relationship: the location.

The same page carries a notice that this portal “will soon be phased out”. It says the Samarth Portal “is now live for all types of vendors, all locations (Material, Services, Shipping, Logistics etc.) with the E-invoicing module”, built so vendors can submit invoices digitally and track them. JSW runs a weekly Wednesday workshop from 11 am to 1 pm on Google Meet to demonstrate invoice uploads. No public address for the Samarth Portal is given; your buyer will onboard you to it.

For sourcing, JSW Steel’s Integrated Annual Report for FY 2025-26 says Raigarh Works digitised procurement through “Ariba-enabled sourcing, automated workflows, e-auctions and streamlined purchase order management”. So once you are a vendor, expect enquiries and reverse auctions to come to you online. Getting onto the list is still a conversation with the plant.

Which JSW plants buy machine work?

JSW Steel reports 18 domestic manufacturing locations. The integrated plants and the Odisha mines are where earthwork, raw material yards, slag handling and in-plant transport run every day. The list of steel companies in India places JSW’s plants state by state; the table below takes capacities from JSW’s own report.

JSW site Where Capacity (FY 2025-26 report) Note for a vendor
Vijayanagar Works Toranagallu, Karnataka 19.5 MTPA crude steel Largest plant; figure includes the BF-3 expansion still under testing
Dolvi Works Maharashtra 10 MTPA crude steel Flat products and TMT
Salem Works Pottaneri, Tamil Nadu 1.2 MTPA crude steel Special and alloy long products
Raigarh Works Chhattisgarh 0.95 MTPA crude steel The plant the report names for Ariba sourcing and e-auctions
Bhushan Power and Steel Sambalpur, Odisha 4.5 MTPA crude steel Moved to the JSW-JFE Steel joint venture from 27 March 2026
Odisha iron ore mines Nuagaon, Narayanposhi, Gonua 10.71 MT ore mined Mining work; JSW reports 25 captive iron ore mines in all

The Sambalpur row matters for paperwork. Since that plant now sits in a joint venture company, a vendor code and purchase order there may be issued by JSW-JFE Steel and not by JSW Steel. Ask which company will sign before you hand over documents. The report also counts roughly 77,000 tonnes of slag converted into construction sand during the year, one sign of how much material moves inside these yards.

JSW Cement is a separate listed company in the group. Its BRSR for FY 2025-26 lists 36 plant locations and 17 offices, and says pre-qualification is mandatory for onboarding all contractors. The same route applies: start with the unit’s commercial or purchase team.

How a hire firm gets a JSW vendor code

JSW does not publish a step-by-step registration guide. The steps below join what its portal, annual report and BRSR do say, and where a step is practice and not a JSW rule, it says so.

  1. Find the user and the buyer. The department that runs the loaders or tippers (raw material handling, slag, mines or projects) creates the need; the location’s commercial team or buyer handles vendor records, as the portal itself indicates. Visit with a one-page profile of your fleet.
  2. Expect the registration tool. JSW Steel’s BRSR says its “vendor and supplier registration tool” asks for licences, statutory approvals, ISO certifications and health and safety compliance. The tool itself is not public.
  3. Pass pre-qualification. In FY 2025-26, JSW completed Pre-Qualification Audits and CARES (Contractor Assessment and Rating for Excellence in Safety) audits for more than 3,500 contractors, by its annual report.
  4. Accept the Supplier Code of Conduct, which ends with a declaration that you have read it and will comply.
  5. Receive your vendor code, then use the portal (or the Samarth Portal once onboarded) for orders, invoices and payment tracking.

What JSW checks before it takes on a contractor

The annual report says the Pre-Qualification Audits test “safety management systems, training standards, equipment compliance, incident history and supervisory capability”. The results drive contractor selection and, where needed, deselection of non-compliant vendors. For a machine owner, equipment compliance means the fitness, insurance and inspection papers for each machine, and supervisory capability means a named supervisor on site.

The BRSR adds one check that catches small firms out: JSW verifies during pre-qualification and due diligence that contractors have deducted and deposited statutory dues. Keep PF and ESIC challans for your operators and helpers ready, along with wage records and the GST and PAN details your invoices will carry.

The Supplier Code of Conduct, linked from JSW Steel’s supply chain sustainability page and covering JSW Steel, JSW Energy, JSW Infrastructure, JSW Cement and other group companies, sets the rest. Suppliers must keep records of all licences and permits and hand over copies when asked. Wages must be paid at least monthly and never below minimum wage. You may not offer any gift or hospitality to JSW staff, and you may not hire a JSW employee who handled your procurement for one year after that person leaves JSW. JSW may audit you and can end the relationship for breaches.

Is JSW vendor registration free?

No JSW page or document read on 2 November 2026 mentions a fee for vendor registration, and none names an outside agent. The only fraud notice on jsw.in and jswsteel.in concerns fake job offers: JSW says fraudsters use its company names to ask job seekers for “processing fees or deposit amounts”, and that it does not charge them. No matching notice covers vendors. Still, the logic carries over. A person who sells a JSW vendor code is selling something only a JSW location can issue. Check any such offer by writing to vendorhelpdesk.gbs@jsw.in, or call the number printed on the portal, 067 4663 6786.

How long JSW takes to pay

JSW Steel’s BRSR reports accounts payable of 87 days in FY 2025-26, down from 127 days a year earlier. JSW Cement reports 93 days, up from 89. These are averages across all purchases, including raw materials, and are not a promise on your hire bills. They are still the best published guide to the working capital a JSW contract needs. JSW Steel’s annual report counts 11,163 MSME vendors, and its BRSR puts the share of input material bought directly from MSMEs and small producers at 13.21%.

If two or three months of diesel, operator wages and EMIs would sit on your books before the first payment, price that gap into your rate. Line up equipment finance that can carry it before you commit a machine for a year.

Machines a JSW plant hires in

JSW publishes no list of the machines it hires, so look at the work. Raw material and slag yards run large wheel loaders such as the Liugong 856H MAX (3.5 cubic metre bucket, 5,500 kg payload, 225 HP, about Rs 60–70 lakh, indicative, as of Nov 2026). Mine benches and plant earthwork use 20-tonne class excavators like the Komatsu PC210-10M0 (20,900 kg, 0.85 to 1.70 cubic metre bucket, 165 HP, about Rs 61–69 lakh, indicative, as of Nov 2026). Tippers and pick-and-carry cranes cover the haulage and lifting. Compare current wheel loader models and prices before you quote a loader rate to a JSW yard.

Your next step: take a fleet profile to the commercial team at the nearest JSW location, and meanwhile track other plant and project work on the opportunities board.

Facts come from the JSW vendor portal, the JSW Group and JSW Steel websites, the JSW Supplier Code of Conduct, JSW Steel’s Integrated Annual Report and BRSR for FY 2025-26, and JSW Cement’s BRSR for FY 2025-26, as read on 2 November 2026. Machine prices are indicative and vary by variant, location and date. Portals, documents and supplier terms change. Confirm the current process with JSW’s procurement team at the location before you apply or quote.
