Estimate the hire bill

Pick the machine, then set the hours and days. The figures use the bands our own rental guides carry. They are a guide to budget with, not a quote.

Metro sites, monsoon months and short hires sit at the top of a band; long dry-hire contracts in smaller towns sit at the bottom. Transport to site, operator stay and GST are extra unless the owner says otherwise. The full list by machine type is in the rental rate card.

Terms you will see on every quote

Wet hire and dry hire

Wet hire includes the operator and diesel. Dry hire is the machine only; you arrange both. The difference is usually a third of the hourly rate or more.

Shift

A daily rate means nothing without the shift length. Eight hours is common; a twelve-hour shift is priced differently.

Mobilisation

Transport to and from your site. Who arranges the trailer and who pays is the most common hidden cost. See our guide on mobilisation.

Minimum period and deposit

Most owners set a minimum hire and take a refundable deposit against damage or unpaid bills.

Idle and breakdown hours

Agree in advance what is billed when the machine waits for your work, and what is deducted when it breaks down.

TDS on hire charges

What it costs and what we do

  • Listing is free. No commission on the hire.
  • Your number is not shown to hirers. We bring the enquiry to you.
  • You can delete the listing whenever you like; we keep a copy of the record for our audit trail, as our privacy policy explains.
  • DesiMachines connects hirers and owners. It is not a party to the hire, does not hold deposits and does not insure the machine. See insurance for rented equipment.

How do I give my machine on rent through DesiMachines?

List it free on your phone: mobile number and OTP, then the machine, its hours, papers and photos. Choose Give on rent and set your hourly, daily or monthly rate. Our team checks the listing and brings hirers' enquiries to you. Start the listing.

Can I see a list of machines available for hire near me?

Not yet. Availability changes daily, so we quote per enquiry from owners and rental companies serving your district. A searchable rental list will follow once there are enough listings to be worth filtering.

What is the minimum hire period?

It is the owner's call. A day is common for small machines, a week or a month for large ones. Say how long you need it and we match owners whose minimum fits.

Does the rate include the operator and diesel?

Only on wet hire. Every quote we pass on states which it is, along with the shift length.

Who pays to bring the machine to my site?

Usually the hirer, unless the owner includes mobilisation in a monthly rate. Settle it before the machine moves.

I own a machine. Do I have to give an operator?

No. You can list it machine-only, with operator, or leave it to the hirer's choice. A machine with a trained operator hires faster.

Is there a written agreement?

There should be. We do not draft or sign it, but our rental agreement guide lists the clauses that stop most disputes.
