At Koradi’s coal handling plant a BD155 bulldozer works the stack yard, and every list of tenders the station’s purchase office puts out ends with one line: vendors are requested to register their firms for e-tendering. MAHAGENCO vendor registration is that step, a single central enrolment on the company’s SAP SRM portal at eprocurement.mahagenco.in, with PAN, GST and firm papers uploaded and the originals checked at a power station you pick. Head-office notices in 2026 put the fee at Rs 5,000 plus GST. Registration lets you buy and bid any MAHAGENCO tender; it does not qualify you for one. Each notice sets its own EMD, turnover and similar-work test, and a September 2026 Koradi job for loader, excavator, truck and compactor operators, estimated at Rs 66.31 lakh, asked for an EMD of Rs 69,806.

Maharashtra State Power Generation Company (MAHAGENCO, or MSPGCL in its own documents) runs the state’s thermal stations: Koradi, Khaperkheda, Chandrapur, Nashik, Bhusawal, Parli and Paras, plus gas at Uran and hydro at Koyna. What follows was read on 2 November 2026 from the company’s tender pages, its SRM bidders manual (version 20251027) and the SRM FAQ.

What is MAHAGENCO vendor registration?

It is a login on the SRM e-tendering system, and you cannot pay a tender fee or submit a bid without one. The SRM bidders manual names three vendor types by mode of procurement. An open tender vendor can bid on every open tender, and this is the only type a civil, transport or machine-hire contractor needs. An OEM vendor is approved by a head-office committee for named original-equipment items. A limited tender vendor gets a factory inspection and can receive limited enquiries.

The FAQ settles the question most people ask first: registration is centralised. Once approved, you can bid on tenders from any unit, and branches of one firm share a single login. MAHAGENCO asks firms not to register twice. Duplicate-registration queries go to eestoresiqc@mahagenco.in.

That is a lighter gate than NTPC vendor registration, where you are enlisted for a specific works group during a window NTPC opens. It is also separate from a state PWD class. Maharashtra PWD contractor registration is no substitute for the SRM login, and no 2026 MAHAGENCO notice read for this guide asked for it.

MAHAGENCO vendor registration procedure, step by step

Step What you do What MAHAGENCO does
1. Apply online Click “New Supplier? Register Here” on eprocurement.mahagenco.in and fill the company sections Nothing yet
2. Upload and pay Upload incorporation certificate, Shop Act licence or partnership/proprietorship deed, PAN and GST certificate (a purchase order copy is optional); pick the nearest power station; pay the registration fee online Routes the application to that station
3. Physical check Take photocopies with a covering letter to the chosen station and show the originals Purchase engineer verifies them
4. Approval Wait for the email Purchase engineer approves you in the system after informing the station head
5. Login Change the system-generated password at first login Emails your chosen user ID and a password

The document list is the same for a manufacturer and a service provider. An authorised dealer also needs a dealership certificate valid for three years. Pick the station you can reach easily, because the FAQ says you must produce the originals there. Payment is by card or net banking, and registration status queries go to the station where you paid. The station contact sheet on the portal lists, for example, eepurchasekoradi@mahagenco.in for Koradi, etenderkpkd@mahagenco.in for Khaperkheda and serpcstps@mahagenco.in for Chandrapur.

Bidding needs two more things: a digital signature certificate from a licensed certifying authority, and a browser setup the portal supports. The manual asks for Microsoft Edge in Internet Explorer mode to create and edit a bid, and a normal browser mode for paying the tender fee and EMD.

Fee, renewal and what MAHAGENCO does not publish

The manual tells you to pay “the vendor registration fee” without printing an amount. The figure appears in head-office notices instead. The 300 MW solar notice of 27 February 2026 says each bidder must register “on online payment of the vendor registration fees Rs. 5000/- + GST”, and calls it non-refundable. The weather station notice of 7 October 2026 and the Lower Wardha floating solar notice of 17 October 2026 repeat Rs 5,000 plus GST. Check the payment screen before you pay.

Tender fees are separate and vary. Khaperkheda’s 2026 notices charge Rs 1,000 plus GST per tender. Head-office notices charged Rs 10,000 or Rs 25,000 plus GST, and the Bhusawal pump house works of February 2026 charged Rs 30,000 including GST.

No validity period is published in the manual or the FAQ. The SRM login page, though, carries a “Vendor Renewal? Click Here” link that opens a payment renewal application, so registration lapses and renewal costs money. One more trap: a few head-office tenders run on a different platform. The October 2026 battery storage notice was hosted on bharat-electronictender.com, with its own registration fee of Rs 3,000 plus GST.

What the stations bought in 2026

Koradi posts a numbered SRM notice every few days, the clearest view of what a machine owner can bid for.

Tender (notice, 2026) Estimate EMD
Koradi T-357: backhoe (“JCB”) with operator to clear the CHP peripheral area (SRM-45, 9 Oct) Rs 7,15,520 Rs 10,655.20
Khaperkheda TN0194: lifting and transporting coal from feeder floor to stack yard, Unit 5 (e-TN-018, July) Rs 4,90,875 Rs 8,408.75
Koradi T-371: collecting, loading and stacking spilled coal, CHP 210 MW (SRM-47, 21 Oct) Rs 36,46,000 Rs 39,960
Koradi T-282: desilting the toe drain along Khasala ash bund (SRM-36, 9 Sep) Rs 39,88,419 Rs 43,384
Koradi T-301: drivers and operators for wheel loader, excavator, truck, backhoe and compactor (SRM-39, 23 Sep) Rs 66,30,592 Rs 69,806
Koradi T-330: road transport of coal between the 210 MW and 660 MW stack yards (SRM-42, 5 Oct) Rs 98,48,520 Rs 1,01,985.20
Koradi T-281: long-boom and pontoon-mounted excavators to clear weeds from ponds 2 and 3 (SRM-36, 9 Sep) Rs 2,03,00,000 Rs 2,06,500

On every one of these, the EMD works out to 1% of the estimate plus Rs 3,500. That is arithmetic from the notices, not a published rule. The biggest job seen, Koradi’s Rs 17.06 crore two-year contract to run the mill reject system and haul reject to the reject yard (SRM-49, 31 October), showed a flat Rs 5 lakh EMD. Bhusawal’s and Nashik’s notices are scanned images with no text layer, so read them on screen.

Fly ash is a separate channel. Sales run as e-auctions and expressions of interest, and the prices are covered in the guide to fly ash price. The February 2026 EOI for lifting dry ash from Koradi and Khaperkheda asked for Rs 500 crore average turnover and at least 100 bulkers and 100 tippers. It also said the winner must complete MAHAGENCO vendor registration before the work order.

How a works contractor qualifies, tender by tender

Station notices print only the estimate and EMD. The qualifying requirements sit in the tender document on the SRM portal. The fullest 2026 example on the public website is the head-office invitation of 25 February 2026 for renovating Bhusawal’s river water pump house (RFx 3000065949), with a works portion of Rs 2.16 crore. It says bidders not yet registered on SRM “need to be registered” after physical verification of their documents. Its works criteria:

  • Similar work completed in the last seven years: three jobs each worth 40% of the estimate, two worth 50%, or one worth 80%.
  • Average annual turnover over the last three financial years of at least 30% of the estimate, backed by audited accounts or a CA certificate carrying a UDIN.
  • The similar work had to be pump station revamping done for MAHAGENCO, NTPC, a state electricity board, a PSU or a central generating company, or as an approved sub-vendor of a MAHAGENCO EPC, turnkey or BOT contractor.

That last line matters to a small fleet owner. Where a tender carries the same wording, work you did under a big contractor inside a MAHAGENCO plant can count later, so collect a proper completion certificate for it. EMD on that tender was Rs 35 lakh, and the original bid security had to follow the online bid by the next day.

On MSE relief, the SRM manual shows a box at the EMD step for NSIC, MSME or SSI exemption and warns that a bid without the supporting certificate can be rejected. How far the waiver goes is set tender by tender. MahaGenco REL, the renewables subsidiary, wrote its clause out in 2026: only micro and small enterprises registered under NSIC, Udyog Aadhaar or DIC, in a category matching the scope, before the notice date. Read the clause in each document before counting on your Udyam certificate.

Machines that MAHAGENCO plant work calls for

The Koradi list shows two kinds of job. In some, MAHAGENCO owns the machines and buys only operators, as in T-301. In others you bring both machine and operator, as in T-357 or the coal and ash-bund jobs. Coal yard clearing and drain desilting are backhoe work, the class of the JCB 3DX (7,200 kg, 1.0 cubic metre front shovel, about Rs 28.5–31.5 lakh, indicative, as of Nov 2026). Spilled-coal loading and stacking suits a 3-cubic-metre loader such as the Hyundai HL630I-V (10,810 kg, 1.7 to 3.0 cubic metre buckets, about Rs 46.5 to 51.5 lakh, indicative, as of Nov 2026). Pond and bund work needs a 20-tonne excavator like the Tata Hitachi EX 200LC Prime (20,100 kg, about Rs 56.1–62 lakh, indicative, as of Nov 2026). The Rs 2.03 crore weed job specifies long-boom and pontoon-mounted machines, which is specialist kit. Compare other wheel loader models and prices before you quote a yard contract that runs for two years.

What to ask the station’s purchase cell before you register

Write to the Executive Engineer (Purchase) at the station nearest you and ask one thing: of the coal yard, ash bund and drain contracts you will float in the next twelve months, which will need the contractor’s own machine with an operator, and will a completion certificate from a job done under one of your EPC contractors count as similar work? Live MAHAGENCO notices, with estimate, EMD and closing date, also appear on the government tenders and opportunities board.

Figures come from MAHAGENCO’s SRM bidders manual (version 20251027), the SRM FAQ and contact list, Koradi SRM notices 33 to 49, Khaperkheda e-tender notices 018, 026 and 028, head-office notices of February and October 2026, and the Bhusawal pump house invitation, as read on 2 November 2026. Machine prices are indicative and vary by variant, location and date. Portals, fees and tender terms change. Confirm the current process with MAHAGENCO’s purchase section at your station or the Central Purchase Agency before you register or quote.
