Which company should build the tipper your business runs on? On their own Indian websites, read on 12 October 2026, four tipper manufacturers in India list a road-going tipper range: Ashok Leyland, BharatBenz, Mahindra Truck and Bus, and Tata Motors. Volvo Trucks India adds the FMX for mining and quarry haulage, and Volvo Construction Equipment sells off-highway dump trucks rated up to 95,000 kg of payload. Ashok Leyland is the only one that showed tipper starting prices: its 8×4 tipper starts at around Rs 52.3-57.8 lakh (indicative, as of Oct 2026).

A tipper earns or loses money on three things: the payload it can legally carry, the days it stays on the road, and how fast a breakdown gets fixed on your route. The brand you choose decides the last two more than the price does. This list sets out what each maker states about its range, so you can shortlist by class and then by service reach.

How this list of tipper manufacturers in India was built

We included a maker if its own Indian website, read on 12 October 2026, listed a tipper or dump truck range. Every model name, class and price below is taken from the maker’s own pages. The list is alphabetical, not a ranking, and covers diesel trucks; electric tippers have their own piece, on electric tippers and dumpers in India. Some makers that sell tippers in India are not here because we could not read a tipper page on their site this time, and that is not a judgment on them.

What each maker lists

Ashok Leyland

Ashok Leyland’s truck menu has a separate tipper family: ICV tippers for lighter work and 8×4, 10×2 and 10×4 heavy tippers, alongside boom pumps and transit mixers built on the same chassis. It is the only maker here that printed starting prices on the page. Banded at plus or minus 5 per cent around its “onwards” figures, the ICV tippers start at around Rs 21.9-24.2 lakh, the 8×4 tipper at around Rs 52.3-57.8 lakh, the 10×2 tipper at around Rs 55.1-60.9 lakh and the 10×4 tipper at around Rs 56.1-62.0 lakh (all indicative, as of Oct 2026). The site marks these figures with an asterisk, so ask what they include.

BharatBenz

BharatBenz groups its tippers as the HDT C series, “heavy duty tippers” from 19 to 35 tonnes, and lists the 1926C, 2826C, 2828C HX, 2828CH, 3532C HX, 2832CM TorqShift and 3532CM TorqShift, plus a 2828C RMC chassis. Its page says the 25 and 31-tonne tippers use a heavy-duty bogie suspension and the 16-tonne model a semi-elliptical one, and it publishes body building guidelines for body builders.

Mahindra Truck and Bus

Mahindra lists the Blazo X 28 and Blazo X 35 Mdura tippers in its heavy range, and its product menu also shows Blazo i-TRK 28 and 35 tippers. The Furio 7, Jayo and Loadking Optimo tippers sit in its light range. The site lists a 48-hour uptime guarantee and a 24-hour parts guarantee for the Blazo i-TRK range, and a mileage guarantee. Read the terms before you count on them.

Tata Motors

Tata Motors’ truck site shows tippers in 28, 35, 42 and 48 tonne classes, including the Prima 2832.K in HRT and SRT versions, the Signa 2832.K, the Prima 3532.K, and the Signa 4232.TK and 4832.TK in both 10×2 and 10×4 layouts. Its enquiry form describes the tipper range as 20 to 55 tonnes. It also lists the Prima E.28K 6×4 electric tipper.

Volvo Construction Equipment

Volvo CE’s India site lists off-highway dump trucks in two families. The rigid haulers run from the R60, rated at 55,000 kg payload with a 36 m³ body, to the R100 at 95,000 kg with a 60.4 m³ body. The articulated haulers run from the A25 at 25,000 kg to the A60 at 55,000 kg. These are mine and large-quarry machines, not road trucks.

Volvo Trucks India

Volvo Trucks India sells the FMX, which it calls its toughest construction truck, for mining and quarry transport, with 460 to 500 hp, an optional driven front axle, 300 mm ground clearance and a heavy-duty bogie rated up to 38 tonnes.

Tipper, dumper or hauler: pick the class before the brand

Road tippers are rated by gross vehicle weight, so a “28-tonne” or “35-tonne” tipper is a road-legal truck whose permitted load depends on its registration. Off-highway rigid and articulated dump trucks are rated by payload and never leave the mine. If your work is sand, aggregate or earth moved on public roads, you are choosing between the four road-tipper makers. If it is overburden inside a lease, you are in Volvo CE’s territory, or that of other off-highway makers.

Then match the truck to the machine that loads it. A tipper that sits waiting for a small excavator, or one too high for the loader to reach, wastes both machines. Check the excavator dumping height against the body height, and count how many bucket passes your loader needs to fill the body. For a 20-tonne class excavator such as the Tata Hitachi EX 210 Infra or Hyundai R210 Smart Plus, divide the body volume by the bucket capacity on the spec sheet, then time a real cycle on site.

What to ask a tipper dealer

  • The nearest authorised workshop on the route the truck will actually run, and its stated response time.
  • Which body, tyres and gearbox the quoted price includes, and the on-road figure for your state.
  • The written terms of any uptime, parts or mileage guarantee.
  • Tyre size and the cost of a replacement set, which our guide to tipper tyre life turns into a cost per kilometre.
  • Resale demand for that model in your region, which decides what the truck is worth when you upgrade.

Before you buy, run the earnings side as well. Our tipper and dumper business profit breakdown shows how trips, diesel and EMI settle the monthly sum.

The bottom line

Shortlist tipper manufacturers in India by class first: road tipper or off-highway dump truck, then tonnage. Among the road makers, Ashok Leyland, BharatBenz, Mahindra and Tata Motors all list 28 to 35 tonne tippers, so the choice comes down to service reach on your route, guarantee terms and the on-road price. For mine haulage, Volvo CE and the Volvo FMX play in a different class altogether.

A tipper earns only as fast as it is loaded. Compare excavators to match your trucks, see the machines used in mining, and check equipment finance options before you order the fleet.

Rates, schemes, specifications and prices change.
