In short: bauma CONEXPO INDIA 2026 runs from 15 to 18 September 2026 at India Expo Centre, Greater Noida. Entry is free for industry professionals who register, and the organisers expect 1,100+ exhibitors and 75,000+ visitors. For anyone buying, running or supplying construction machines in India, it is the one place where most of the market can be seen and questioned in a few days. The DesiMachines team is there all four days.

Most buying decisions in construction equipment happen one dealer at a time. You visit a showroom, hear one brand’s version of the story, then drive to the next one a week later. By the time you have three quotes, the first one has expired.

A trade fair changes that. For four days, the brands, their dealers, the lenders, the tyre and engine makers and the parts suppliers are all under one roof, a short walk from each other. That is the real reason to go.

Timings and entry rules are from the official bauma CONEXPO INDIA website; the 2026 exhibitor and visitor figures are the organisers’ own estimates, released on 11 September.

Why attending bauma CONEXPO INDIA matters

The last edition, in December 2024, drew 984 exhibitors and 51,118 visitors from 83 countries across 135,000 square metres. This year the organisers say the space is sold out and the exhibitor list has grown past 1,100. Buyer delegations from more than 15 states and Union Territories are travelling in, from Bihar and Jharkhand to Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Gujarat and Jammu and Kashmir.

What that means in practice depends on who you are.

If you are buying a machine

You can stand next to two excavators of the same class from different brands and look at the things a brochure hides: how easy the service points are to reach, how the cabin feels, how the attachments lock on. The same goes for backhoe loaders, wheel loaders, motor graders and cranes.

You can also ask the questions that decide the real cost of owning a machine. Where is the nearest service point to your district? How long do common spares take to arrive? What does the warranty cover after the first year? Ask every brand the same list and the answers become easy to compare.

If you are a contractor or fleet owner

Ravindra Tyagi, National President of the Builders’ Association of India, put it simply in the organisers’ release: “For contractors, equipment is a project-critical asset.” The show is where you see what is changing in that asset: telematics that track fuel and working hours, electric and hybrid machines, and the attachments that let one machine do three jobs.

It is also a good place to talk finance. Brand teams can tell you which lenders they work with and what their current schemes look like, and hearing several in one day is faster than calling each one. Our equipment finance section explains what lenders look at before you sit down with them.

If you are a supplier, vendor or dealer

The fair covers far more than finished machines. The organisers group it into construction machinery, building material machines, mining machines, construction vehicles, and components and services: engines, transmissions, hydraulics, tyres, wear parts and safety systems. Component makers, fabricators and service companies meet the brands’ purchase teams here, and dealers meet customers from states they do not usually reach.

New launches, new brands and new faces

An Indian equipment show is where brands time their launches. At EXCON 2025 in Bengaluru, JCB India unveiled a 52-tonne excavator, SANY India showed its biggest line-up yet, Volvo CE brought sustainability-led machines, Mahindra launched a mini compactor and TIL revealed three made-in-India material-handling machines.

Expect the same at Greater Noida. The exhibitor list published by the organisers includes JCB India, Tata Hitachi, SANY India, Volvo Construction Equipment, Caterpillar India, Larsen and Toubro, Liebherr India, LiuGong India, Escorts Kubota, Action Construction Equipment, XCMG, Zoomlion, Schwing Stetter, Putzmeister, Tadano, Terex, Wirtgen, Ammann and many more. Engine, tyre and steel makers such as Cummins India, BKT, CEAT, JK Tyre and Jindal Steel are there too.

Shows also bring in new brands. The country pavilions from Germany, China, Taiwan and Italy bring manufacturers that many Indian buyers have not seen before, and a show is where they look for dealers and customers here.

Alongside the halls, there are technical sessions by the Indian Demolition Association, the Indian Concrete Institute (Delhi Chapter) and the Fluid Power Society of India, and Demtech India runs at the same venue.

We publish confirmed launches from the show in our construction equipment news as the brands announce them.

Why the DesiMachines team walks every equipment show

Our team visits the major equipment exhibitions in India, from EXCON in Bengaluru to bauma CONEXPO INDIA in Greater Noida. We go for a simple reason: a machine catalogue is only as good as the last time someone checked it.

At a show, we do four things.

We learn what is new. We note every new model, variant and engine change, so new machines reach our product pages with the right specifications once the brand publishes them.

We meet the brand teams. Product managers and regional sales heads are easier to find at a stall than on a phone line. We check specifications, confirm which models are still in production, and ask where support is available.

We meet the wider trade. Dealers, financiers, insurers, parts suppliers and service vendors all shape what a buyer actually pays and how long a machine keeps earning. Their view helps our comparison pages and cost calculators reflect how machines are bought and run, not just how they are brochured.

We meet the people we write for. Contractors, operators and first-time buyers walk the halls too. Their questions at a stall are the same ones they search for later, and they tell us what our guides should answer next.

How to get the most out of bauma CONEXPO INDIA 2026

The halls are large and four days go fast. A little planning turns a long walk into a useful one.

Register online before you travel. Registration is free either way, but pre-registering saves time at the gate. Remember the badge allows one entry per day, so plan your day before you leave the hall.

Make a shortlist. Pick the machine type and the three or four brands you want to compare. If you are not sure which machine suits your work, our machine finder narrows it down in a few questions.

Carry your numbers. Write down the kind of job, the hours the machine will work each month, your budget and the down payment you can manage. Sales teams give far better answers when they know these.

Ask for everything in writing. If a brand mentions a show price or offer, ask for the terms on paper, with the model, what is included and how long it is valid. Then compare it with your local dealer’s quote after the show. Nobody should sign on the stall floor.

Ask about after-sales, not just the machine. Service coverage in your area, spares lead time, operator training and warranty terms matter more over five years than the difference in list price.

Think about your current machine too. A new purchase often means selling the old one. If you plan to sell your current machine, you can list it on DesiMachines before or after the show.

The bottom line

bauma CONEXPO INDIA 2026 puts most of India’s construction equipment trade in one place for four days: the brands, their newest machines, the financiers and the suppliers behind them. For a buyer it is the fastest way to compare; for a contractor it shows where the machines are heading; for a supplier it is the room where the customers are.

Our team will be walking the halls through 18 September. Once you have seen the machines in person, you can check specifications and the latest price range on any model in our excavator and backhoe loader catalogues, or compare two machines side by side.

Show dates, timings, entry rules and exhibitor figures are as published by the organisers before the event and can change. Check the official bauma CONEXPO INDIA website before you travel.
