Where do I register to hire my excavators to Vedanta? Start by finding out which Vedanta company owns the mine or plant, because since 1 May 2026 the aluminium, iron ore, merchant power and oil and gas businesses have been separate companies. Vedanta vendor registration on vedantalimited.com is a five-field form on the Suppliers page. The aluminium, iron ore and power companies now take suppliers on their own SAP Ariba portals. None of them publishes a registration fee, and Vedanta says it does not ask contractors for money to secure work.

Most guides to Vedanta supplier registration were written for one company with many plants. That changed this year. Under a composite scheme of arrangement, Vedanta’s board made the demerger effective on 1 May 2026, and four new companies took over the aluminium, merchant power, oil and gas, and iron ore undertakings. For a machine owner chasing overburden, coal handling or plant maintenance work, the company that issues your order may now have a different name and a different portal. Everything below comes from the companies’ own websites, EOI notices and stock exchange filings, as read on 2 November 2026.

Which Vedanta company owns the site you want to work at?

The record-date notice Vedanta filed on 20 April 2026 names the four resulting companies. Each company’s own site shows where its suppliers are sent.

Company (since 1 May 2026) Sites a machine owner would work at Supplier route it publishes
Vedanta Limited Hindustan Zinc, Zinc International, copper, FACOR chrome ore mines in Jajpur and Dhenkanal (Odisha) Registration form on the Suppliers page of vedantalimited.com
Vedanta Aluminium Metal Limited (VAML) Jharsuguda smelter, Lanjigarh refinery, Jamkhani coal mine, BALCO at Korba EOIs on its Tender Updates page, replies through SAP Ariba
Vedanta Iron and Steel Limited (VISL) Iron ore business that began in Goa and grew into Karnataka and Odisha; ESL Steel at Bokaro Procurement page linking to SAP Ariba
Talwandi Sabo Power Limited (Vedanta Power) 4,780 MW across Punjab, Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Odisha Becoming a Supplier page, SAP Ariba registration
Malco Energy Limited Oil and gas undertaking Not checked for this guide

The NCLT approval notice of December 2025 says Vedanta Limited continues as the parent company housing Hindustan Zinc. Its Q2 FY27 results, released on 28 October 2026, put Zinc India’s mined metal output at a record 271 kt for the quarter, and FACOR took its first tonne of underground ore from the Ostapal mines.

How Vedanta vendor registration works on vedantalimited.com

The Vedanta Suppliers page opens with a short registration form. It asks for five things, all mandatory: a business unit picked from a list, your organisation name, your full name, your email address and a brief description of your commodity catalogue. After you submit, the page says the team will get back to you. There is no document upload and no turnover field. We read the form in the page’s public source code and did not submit it.

The business unit list is the detail to watch. As of 2 November 2026 it still offers twelve choices: ESL, IOB, JSG, BALCO, Cairn, HZL, SC, FG, TSPL, Lanjigarh, FACOR and VZI. The page does not spell the letters out. Several of them, including BALCO, Lanjigarh, ESL and TSPL, now sit in the demerged companies, so a form filed under one of those units goes to Vedanta Limited’s inbox while the order would come from another company. If you want work at Jharsuguda, Lanjigarh, Korba, a Goa iron ore mine or a power plant, use that company’s own route as well.

The same page carries a second form, Submit Your Query, for existing suppliers. It asks for a PO number, a vendor code and a query category of Order, Payment or Other. Keep your vendor code and PO number to hand when a bill is late.

Vedanta Aluminium vendor registration: EOIs and Ariba

The aluminium company holds most of the mining work a contractor with heavy machines would want. Its Information Memorandum of 8 June 2026 says it runs a captive coal mine at Jamkhani, Odisha, with a peak rated capacity of 2.6 million tonnes a year. It plans to open three more coal mines in Odisha: Ghogharpalli and its Dip Extension (20 MTPA) and Kuraloi (A) North (8 MTPA) in FY2027, and Radhikapur (West) (6 MTPA) in FY2028. The Sijimali bauxite mine is planned for FY2027, and the Lanjigarh refinery now runs at 5 MTPA.

Work for these sites is announced as expressions of interest on the Vedanta Aluminium Tender Updates page. Three recent notices show the kind of work on offer:

EOI (reference) Scope Published / due
Mining infrastructure on EPC / BOOT basis (PR/VAL-MINES-M1) Infrastructure at its Odisha coal mines: approvals, land, R&R colonies, township, nala diversion 7 Oct 2025 / 11 Oct 2025
Active mine management in coal materialisation (VALL/COM/CC001) Mine management and road-cum-rail coal transport to the 155 MW Lanjigarh power plant, for 2 years 17 Oct 2025 / 24 Oct 2025
Sustaining capex EPC partner, Jharsuguda (VAMLJ015 on the notice) Civil, structural, mechanical, electrical and pot relining work 26 Aug 2026 / 31 Aug 2026

The two October 2025 notices ask for the same papers: details of your organisation, statutory registration licences, three years of audited balance sheets, credentials and other relevant documents. You submit them at vedantaaluminum.sourcing.ariba.com/ad/selfRegistration, quoting the reference number, and email queries to eoiresponses@vedanta.co.in. The windows are short, four to eleven days in the examples above, so have the balance sheets scanned before a notice appears.

One small trap: the August 2026 notice prints the portal as vedantaaluminium.sourcing.ariba.com, with the British spelling. On 2 November 2026 that address ended on an Ariba error page, while the “aluminum” spelling used in the 2025 notices redirected to Ariba’s self-registration page. If one fails, try the other.

BALCO, VAML’s subsidiary at Korba, keeps its own tenders page. Its August 2024 EOI for business partners for mines and power plants listed hiring of heavy earth moving machinery, mine developer and operator (MDO) work, transportation and industrial mining equipment, and highwall mining, with replies to tender.need@vedanta.co.in. That notice is two years old. Treat it as a guide to what BALCO buys, not an open call. Live mining and material-handling packages from private and public buyers are tracked on the tenders and opportunities board.

Iron ore, power and the rest of the group

Vedanta Iron and Steel’s Procurement page has two buttons and no form. One opens an SAP Ariba sourcing site (realm “sesa-goa”), and the other opens Vedanta Metal Bazaar, which is a metal sales platform for buyers. VISL says its mining began in Goa in 1954 and spread to Karnataka and Odisha, and that ESL Steel produces 1.5 million tonnes of steel a year at Bokaro. For mine contracting in Goa or Karnataka, ask the mine office which Ariba event to watch.

Vedanta Power publishes the clearest steps of any group company. Its Becoming a Supplier page lists five: register on the SAP Ariba supplier portal, complete your business profile with the required documents, acknowledge the Supplier Code of Conduct, get qualified for relevant procurement categories, and take part in sourcing events and EOIs. Grievances on procurement and payments go through the Sahyog portal, and commercial queries to vedantapower.commercial@vedanta.co.in.

For Hindustan Zinc, Vedanta’s own documents go no further than listing HZL on the supplier form. Ask HZL’s procurement team directly how it onboards hire contractors.

Is there a fee, and what do you sign?

None of the five supplier pages we read mentions a fee. Vedanta’s recruitment fraud notice goes further: it tells readers not to respond to unsolicited business propositions and says that Vedanta Limited does not ask for money transfers or payments from applicants to secure a job, “either as an employee or as a contractor”. Report suspect messages to careers@vedanta.co.in and to your local police. Validity and renewal of registration are not published anywhere we looked.

The Supplier Code of Conduct (August 2023) applies to contractors and service providers across the group. Four clauses matter on a mine site. You may not offer gifts or hospitality to win an order. You must report any Vedanta employee who has an interest in your business. You may not recruit a Vedanta employee without the company’s consent. And you may not use the Vedanta name or logo without written permission, which rules out a “Vedanta approved vendor” banner on your trucks.

Machines that fit Vedanta’s mine and smelter work

Coal and bauxite benches at the scale of Ghogharpalli call for 35-tonne class excavators. The SANY SY365C-9LA weighs 36,800 kg and comes with a 2.4 cubic metre coal bucket (about Rs 1.04–1.16 crore, indicative, as of Nov 2026). The Tata Hitachi ZAXIS 370LCH Ultra weighs 35,700 kg with buckets of 1.3 to 2.5 cubic metres (about Rs 1.14–1.26 crore, indicative, as of Nov 2026). Smelter yards, ash handling and the road-cum-rail coal links described in the Lanjigarh EOI need smaller machines and tippers more than large excavators.

The bidding pattern resembles public miners in one way: you qualify for each package on documents, so compare it with Coal India vendor registration for overburden work and NMDC vendor registration for iron ore hiring. The wider picture of mine types, permits and fleets is in the mining guide.

When to use the Vedanta form and when to go straight to the business

Use the vedantalimited.com form if your work is at a Vedanta Limited site, such as FACOR’s chrome mines in Odisha, or if you are unsure which unit to approach. Go straight to the company’s own route if the site is a smelter, refinery, coal mine, iron ore mine or power plant that moved out on 1 May 2026: Tender Updates and Ariba for aluminium, the Procurement page for iron ore, and the Becoming a Supplier page for power. If an EOI needs a bigger machine than you own, check equipment finance against a realistic first payment date, and compare excavator models and prices before you commit a machine to a bid.

Figures come from Vedanta Limited’s Suppliers page, fraud notice, Supplier Code of Conduct (August 2023), demerger filings of December 2025 and April 2026 and Q2 FY27 results; Vedanta Aluminium Metal Limited’s Tender Updates page, EOI notices and Information Memorandum (8 June 2026); BALCO’s tenders page; and the supplier pages of Vedanta Iron and Steel and Vedanta Power, as read on 2 November 2026. Machine prices are indicative and vary by variant, location and date. Portals, documents and supplier terms change. Confirm the current process with the procurement team of the Vedanta company concerned before you apply or quote.
