What counts as RMC plant equipment?

Ready-mix concrete (RMC) is concrete weighed and mixed at a plant and delivered to the site ready to place. The plant itself is fixed equipment: the batching unit, the cement silos, the aggregate bins and the conveyors. DesiMachines does not list batching plants, silos, cement bulkers or boom pumps.

What we do list is the mobile fleet that keeps a plant running. Wheel loaders feed sand and aggregate into the bins. Transit mixers carry each load to the site with the drum turning, and stationary concrete pumps place it, often many floors up. Where no plant is within reach, a self-loading mixer weighs, mixes and pours its own concrete. A backhoe loader handles the stockpiles, drains and odd jobs in the yard. The same fleet works for a site batching plant set up for one large project.

Which ready-mix machines do buyers ask about most?

The order follows the enquiries buyers sent us over the last four months, with no more than two models from one brand.

Which brands make these machines?

The brands with the most models listed in these classes. Each name opens that brand's range.

Where is ready-mix work concentrated in India?

Ready-mix is sold where the building is. A load has to be placed soon after it is mixed, so plants sit in and around cities. When Nuvoco opened a plant in Mumbai, it said the plant would serve projects within a 15 to 20 km radius.

Urban housing shows which states carry the most of that building. According to the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, the largest investment in houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) is in Maharashtra, Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh, followed by Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Telangana.

For a fleet owner, that means transit mixer and pump work clusters around the large cities of these states. Each state page lists the ready-mix makers with a plant in that state, along with the machines and dealers there.

Who are the main ready-mix concrete producers in India?

The producers below are cement companies and specialist ready-mix makers, each running a network of plants in and around cities. The list is alphabetical, not a ranking.

Frequently asked questions

Which machines does a ready-mix concrete plant need?

The plant is fed by wheel loaders that tip sand and aggregate into its bins. Transit mixers carry the concrete to each site and stationary concrete pumps place it. A backhoe loader helps around the yard. The batching plant, silos and cement bulkers are separate equipment and are not listed here.

Transit mixer or self-loading mixer?

A transit mixer only carries concrete, so it needs a batching plant to load it and suits city work with steady volumes. A self-loading mixer loads its own materials, weighs, mixes and pours, so it suits sites far from any plant and jobs too small to order ready-mix.

What size wheel loader feeds a batching plant?

Most plants are fed by a wheel loader in the 8 to 15 tonne class, matched to the height and width of the aggregate bins. A small site plant can be fed by a compact loader or a backhoe loader.

Can a fleet owner earn from ready-mix without owning a plant?

Yes. Transit mixers and concrete pumps are often hired by ready-mix producers and builders by the trip, by the volume or by the month. The rental guides linked on this page explain the usual hire terms and what to check before signing.

Does DesiMachines list batching plants?

No. Batching plants, cement silos, cement bulkers and boom pumps are not listed. The machines on this page are the mixers, pumps and loaders that work around a plant.

Can I finance or insure a machine for this work through DesiMachines?

The finance page compares lenders and lets you work out an EMI, and the insurance page explains what a machine policy covers. Both are linked on this page.
