Liebherr positions the R 998 SME Litronic between construction machines and true mining excavators, and Indian quarry groups use it exactly that way. Weighing 97700-101400 kg, it runs a Liebherr D9508 rated 571 HP and swings buckets of 5.20-7.20 m³ with 506 kN of digging force at the bucket. Maximum digging depth is 7350 mm.
Think large limestone and granite quarries, cement captive mines and bulk overburden contracts. A 1498 L fuel tank covers long shifts, the machine dumps at 8500 mm into high-sided tippers, and factory support comes through Liebherr rather than a chain of intermediaries.
