The Komatsu D275A-5R is a 50.9-tonne mining crawler dozer powered by a 449 HP engine. Its 13.7 m³ blade handles heavy cuts, while the 840-litre fuel tank supports long working shifts. A 3-shank multi-shank ripper provides wider breaking coverage, while the variable giant single-shank reaches 1,420 mm for deeper work. The choice allows the same machine to handle different ground conditions. Tractor-only ground bearing pressure is 87.3 kPa and rises to about 118 kPa in full operating trim. Firm mining benches are better suited to this configuration than soft fill. The D275A-5R sits between the D155A-6 and D375A-6 in Komatsu's mining range. Its operating size makes it suitable for quarry and overburden work where construction-class machines are no longer sufficient.
