Powerful and Compliant BS-V Engine

The TATA 497 TCIC 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine provides 74 HP at 2200 rpm for reliable and efficient performance.
It produces strong 345 Nm torque, making it suitable for heavy digging, lifting, and loading tasks without sacrificing fuel efficiency.
This engine meets BS-V emission standards, supporting cleaner operations with less environmental impact and improved compliance with regulations.

Why Choose ACE AX 124

The ACE AX 124 carries the Tata 74 HP engine — and the Tata engine choice is the working advantage for value-conscious contractors. The Tata 74 HP 3.5 L block is one of the most-serviced commercial engines in India through Tata Motors' enormous truck and commercial-vehicle dealer network.
Why does this matter for a rural backhoe buyer? Because ACE's own dealer network is smaller than JCB or Mahindra — but Tata truck workshops exist in every district and along every national highway. Engine breakdowns get serviced the same day, anywhere in India, through the Tata commercial-vehicle infrastructure.
ACE (Action Construction Equipment) positions itself as the value pick in Indian backhoe — pricing meaningfully below JCB, Mahindra and CASE at comparable 74 HP spec. The upfront cost saving is typically 15-20%, which matters to first-time buyers and small-contractor financing.
Switchable 2WD/4WD configuration gives mixed-ground flexibility. The AX 124 is ACE's volume model — the machine most Indian ACE buyers end up choosing.
Trade-off is honest: resale value on ACE runs below JCB and Mahindra. Fleet brand recognition is weaker. For value-first buyers who prioritise upfront cost saving and Tata engine-service reach over resale and dealer density, the AX 124 is the considered pick.

Where the numbers come from. Our price data means it is the price listed on the DesiMachines model page (indicative, ex-factory), or the average of the listed prices for that type of machine. Market range means it is a rate the market was quoting in 2025–26. Estimate — check means it is our own working number and we have not confirmed it with a dealer, so treat it as a starting point. Standard factor means a standard engineering value, not a price.

Assumptions used in every tool. GST is 18% on earthmoving machines (HSN 8429); tippers and trucks differ. Machine prices are the indicative ex-factory bands listed on DesiMachines model pages, or the average of listed prices for that type; they are not quotes. First-year insurance is taken as about 2% of the price, registration and road tax as about ₹45,000 (wheeled machines only; crawler machines are not registered), handling as about ₹15,000. Loans assume 20% down, 11% a year and 5 years unless you change them. Diesel is taken at ₹92 a litre and a typical burn for the machine class. Every one of these is a field you can change, and the “What we assumed” list under each result shows what the answer used.

Please read. These calculators give an indicative estimate, not a quote. Prices, hire rates, diesel prices, salaries, taxes and interest rates change by state, by season and by buyer. Loan terms and eligibility depend on your bank or NBFC. Resale figures are a band, not a valuation. Confirm the final numbers with our team, your dealer and your lender before you commit money.
